This part of EN 1514 specifies the dimensions and marking of spiral wound gaskets for use in conjunction with flat face and raised face flanges complying with the requirements of EN 1092-1 for PN 10, PN 16, PN 25, PN 40, PN 63, PN 100 and PN 160 and up to and including DN 1 000.
NOTE 1   Dimensions of other types of gaskets for use with flanges to EN 1092-1, EN 1092-2, EN 1092-3 and EN 1092 4 are given in EN 1514-1, EN 1514-3, EN 1514-4, EN 1514-6, EN 1514-7 and EN 1514-8.
NOTE 2   Annex A lists information to be supplied by the purchaser when ordering gaskets in circumstances where the choice of the gasket materials appropriate to the service is left to the manufacturer.

Dieser Teil der EN 1514 legt die Maße und Kennzeichnung von Spiraldichtungen zur Verwendung mit
Flanschen mit glatter Dichtfläche (ohne Dichtleiste) und Flanschen mit Dichtleiste nach den Anforderungen der EN 1092-1 für PN 10, PN 16, PN 25, PN 40, PN 63, PN 100 und PN 160 und Nennweiten bis einschließlich DN 1 000 fest.
ANMERKUNG 1      Die Maße für andere Dichtungsformen für die Verwendung mit Flanschen nach EN 1092-1, EN 1092 2, EN 1092-3 und EN 1092-4 sind in EN 1514-1, EN 1514-3, EN 1514-4, EN 1514-6, EN 1514-7 und EN 1514-8 enthalten.
ANMERKUNG 2      Anhang A enthält Angaben, die vom Anwender bei der Bestellung von Dichtungen anzugeben sind, wenn die Auswahl der für den Anwendungsfall geeigneten Dichtungswerkstoffe dem Hersteller überlassen bleibt.

La présente partie de l'EN 1514 spécifie les dimensions et le marquage des joints spiralés utilisés avec des brides à face plate et surélevée conformes aux exigences de l'EN 1092-1, pour les pressions nominales PN 10, PN 16, PN 25, PN 40, PN 63, PN 100 et PN 160, et les diamètres nominaux allant jusqu'à DN 1 000 inclus.
NOTE 1   Les dimensions des autres types de joints utilisés avec des brides conformes à l'EN 1092-1, l'EN 1092-2, l'EN 1092-3 et l'EN 1092 4 sont données dans les normes EN 1514-1, EN 1514-3, EN 1514-4, EN 1514-6, EN 1514-7 et EN 1514-8.

This document sets down procedures by which a user can have confidence that the salient features of each batch of gaskets or gasket materials delivered to them will be constant.
The gasket types covered by this document are those that are within the scope of the EN 1514 series and EN 12560 series and are simultaneously within the scope of the EN 1591 series. An exception is those gaskets intended solely for domestic fluids (like water, waste water ...) which are based on rubber with or without reinforcement like fillers and/or inserts.

This European Standard specifies the dimensions, design, types, designation, materials and marking of spiral wound gaskets for use with type A flat face or type B raised face flange facings complying with EN 1759-1 for the following Class designations:
-   Class 150, to Class 1 500 for nominal sizes DN 15 to DN 600, and
-   Class designation 2 500 up to and including DN 300.
The centering rings for the spiral wound gaskets according to this standard are sized for use with imperial bolting.
The dimensions of spiral wound gaskets for tongue and groove flange facing types and spigot and recess flange facing types to EN 1759-1 are not included in this standard.
Such gaskets may be available, however, for these types of flange and the purchaser is advised to consult the manufacturer as to their availability. Similarly, for slip-on or screwed flange types, the manufacturer should be consulted about availability.
