This document is a collection of interpretations related to EN 81-20 up to EN 81-28. Since the standards EN 81-1: 1998 and EN 81-2: 1998 have not yet been incorporated into the group EN 81-20 to EN 81-28 and interpretations to other standards of this group are not yet available, this issue contains only information about interpretations related to EN 81-1: 1998 and EN 81-2:1998.
Interpretations aim to improve understanding of the clause(s) they are referring to and by that facilitating common understanding between manufacturers, lift installers, notified bodies, inspection bodies and national authorities.
Interpretations do not have the same status as the standards to which they are related. However the application of interpretations should give to the interested parties confidence that the relevant standard has not been wrongly applied.

Dieses Dokument ist eine Zusammenstellung von Auslegungen zu EN 81-20 bis EN 81-20. Da die Normen EN 81-1:1998 und EN 81-2:1998 noch nicht in die Gruppe der Normen EN 81-20 bis-21 einbezogen worden sind und Auslegungen zu anderen Normen dieser Gruppe derzeit nicht bestehen, enthält diese Ausgabe nur Auslegungen zu EN 81-1:1998 und EN 81-2:1998
Auslegungen dienen dazu, das Verständnis der Abschnitte, auf die sie sich beziehen, zu verbessern und dadurch ein gemeinsames Verständnis zwischen Herstellern, Montagebetrieben, Benannten Stellen und nationalen Behörden zu erleichtern.
Auslegungen haben nicht den gleichen Status wie die Normen, auf die sie sich beziehen. Die Anwendung von Auslegungen geben den beteiligten Kreisen jedoch das Vertrauen, dass die entsprechende Norm nicht falsch angewendet worden ist.

Ce document constitue un recueil d'interprétations relatives aux EN 81-20 à EN 81-28. Bien que les normes EN 81-1:1998 et EN 81-2:1998 n'aient pas encore été incorporées au groupe de normes EN 81-20 à EN 81 28 et que les interprétations relatives aux autres normes ne sont pas encore disponibles, cette édition contient seulement des informations sur les interprétations relatives aux EN 81 1:1998 et EN 81 2:1998.
Les interprétations ont pour objectif d'améliorer la compréhension de la (des) articles auxquelles elles font référence et de ce fait, de faciliter une compréhension commune entre les fabricants, les installateurs d'ascenseurs, les organismes notifiés, les organismes de contrôle et les autorités nationales.
Les interprétations n'ont pas le même statut que les normes auxquelles elles se réfèrent. Cependant, l'application des interprétations devrait donner l'assurance aux parties intéressées que la norme concernée n'a pas été appliquée de façon erronée.

This Technical Specification (CEN/TS) was approved by CEN on 30 May 2004 for provisional application.
The period of validity of this CEN/TS is limited initially to three years. After two years the members of CEN will be requested to submit their
comments, particularly on the question whether the CEN/TS can be converted into a European Standard.
CEN members are required to announce the existence of this CEN/TS in the same way as for an EN and to make the CEN/TS available
promptly at national level in an appropriate form. It is permissible to keep conflicting national standards in force (in parallel to the CEN/TS)
until the final decision about the possible conversion of the CEN/TS into an EN is reached.
CEN members are the national standards bodies of Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France,
