Respiratory equipment - Open-circuit self-contained diving apparatus for use with compressed Nitrox and oxygen - Requirements, testing, marking

This European Standard applies to self-contained open-circuit compressed Nitrox underwater breathing apparatus. This European Standard defines additional requirements for Nitrox-SCUBA to those already given in EN 250. The object of the requirements and tests set out in this European Standard is to ensure a minimum level of safe operation for apparatus to the maximum operable depth (MOD) of the used Nitrox-mixture.

La présente Norme européenne s'applique aux scaphandres à circuit ouvert utilisant du nitrox (d'une teneur en oxygène supérieure à 22 %) ou de l'oxygène comprimé (scaphandres NITROX).
La présente Norme européenne pour les scaphandres au nitrox ou à l'oxygène définit des exigences, des exceptions et des essais complémentaires de ceux déjà décrits dans l'EN 250.
Les exigences et les essais décrits dans la présente Norme européenne visent à assurer un niveau minimal de sécurité dans le fonctionnement de ce type d'appareils.
