ISO 7040:2012 specifies the characteristics of prevailing torque type hexagon regular nuts (with non-metallic insert) with threads from M3 up to and including M36, in product grade A for threads up to and including M16 and product grade B for threads above M16, and with property classes 5, 8 and 10.

Sechskantmuttern mit Klemmteil (mit nichtmetallischem Einsatz) - Festigkeitsklassen 5, 8 und 10 (ISO 7040:2012)

Diese Internationale Norm legt die Eigenschaften von Sechskantmuttern mit Klemmteil (mit nichtmetallischem Einsatz) mit Gewinde von M3 bis M36, in Produktklasse A für Gewinde bis M16 und Produktklasse B für Gewinde über M16, und mit Festigkeitsklassen 5, 8 und 10 fest.
ANMERKUNG   Die Maße der Muttern entsprechen den in ISO 4032 angegebenen Maßen plus Klemmteil.
Werden andere Festlegungen benötigt, können diese den bestehenden Internationalen Normen entnommen werden, z. B. ISO 261, ISO 724, ISO 898 2, ISO 965 2, ISO 2320 und ISO 4759 1.

Ta mednarodni standard določa značilnosti šestrobih zaščitnih matic (s plastičnim vložkom) z navoji od M3 do vključno M36, v razredu izdelave A za navoje do vključno M16 in v razredu izdelave B za navoje nad M16, ter z razredi trdnosti 5, 8 in 10. Če so zahtevane druge specifikacije, jih je mogoče izbrati iz obstoječih mednarodnih standardov, na primer standardov ISO 261, ISO 724, ISO 898-2, ISO 965-2, ISO 2320 in ISO 4759-1.

This document (EN ISO 7040:2012) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 2 "Fasteners" in
collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 185 “Fasteners” the secretariat of which is held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by June 2013, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at
the latest by June 2013.
