Geotechnical investigation and testing - Laboratory testing of soil - Part 8: Unconsolidated undrained triaxial test (ISO/TS 17892-8:2004)

ISO/TS 17892-8:2004 specifies the test method for the determination of the compressive strength of a cylindrical, water-saturated specimen of undisturbed or remoulded cohesive soil when first subjected to an isotropic stress without allowing any drainage from the specimen, and thereafter sheared under undrained conditions within the scope of the geotechnical investigations according to prEN 1997-1 and -2.
NOTE "Water-saturated" refers to the in-situ condition. The material tested need not necessarily be saturated at all stages during the laboratory testing.

Diese Technische Spezifikation legt das Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Spannungs-Dehnungs-Beziehungen eines zylindrischen, wassergesättigten Probekörpers aus ungestörtem oder aufbereitetem kohäsiven Boden, der ausgehend von einer unkonsolidierten isotropen Belastung unter undränierten Bedingungen abgeschert wird im Rahmen geotechnischer Untersuchungen nach ENV 1997-1 und ENV 1997-2 fest.
ANMERKUNG   �Wassergesättigt" bezieht sich auf den Zustand in situ. Die Bodenprobe muss nicht notwendigerweise während des gesamten Laborversuchs gesättigt sein.

L'ISO 17892-8:2004 concerne la détermination de la résistance d'une éprouvette cylindrique de sol non remanié ou remanié, saturée d'eau, présentant de la cohésion ou cohésion résiduelle, lorsqu'elle est soumise à une contrainte isotrope en conditions non drainées, puis cisaillée en conditions non drainées dans le domaine d'application des reconnaissances géotechniques conforme aux prEN 1997-1 et -2.
NOTE Le terme «saturé d'eau» se rapporte aux conditions en place. Le matériau soumis à l'essai ne doit pas nécessairement être saturé à tout instant durant l'essai de laboratoire.

Ta dokument določa preskusno metodo za ugotavljanje tlačne trdnosti valjastega z vodo zasičenega vzorca nespremenjene ali preoblikovane kohezivne zemljine, na katero najprej deluje izotropna napetost, ki ne omogoča drenaže iz vzorca, nato pa se striže pod nedreniranimi pogoji v okviru geotehničnih preiskav v skladu s prEN 1997-1 in -2.

This Technical Specification (CEN/TS) was approved by CEN on 2 February 2004 for provisional application.
The period of validity of this CEN/TS is limited initially to three years. After two years the members of CEN will be requested to submit their
comments, particularly on the question whether the CEN/TS can be converted into a European Standard.
CEN members are required to announce the existence of this CEN/TS in the same way as for an EN and to make the CEN/TS available
promptly at national level in an appropriate form. It is permissible to keep conflicting national standards in force (in parallel to the CEN/TS)
