ISO 17892-1:2014 specifies a method of determining the water content of soils.
It is applicable to the laboratory determination of the water (also known as moisture) content of a soil test specimen by oven-drying within the scope of geotechnical investigations. The water content is required as a guide to the classification of natural soils and as a control criterion in re-compacted soils, and is measured on samples used for most field and laboratory tests. The oven-drying method is the definitive procedure used in usual laboratory practice.
The practical procedure for determining the water content of a soil is to determine the mass loss on drying the test specimen to a constant mass in a drying oven controlled at a given temperature. The mass loss is assumed to be due to free water and is referenced to the remaining dry mass of solid particles.

Diese Internationale Norm behandelt legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung des Wassergehalts von Böden fest.
Diese Internationale Norm beschreibt die Bestimmung des Wassergehalts von Bodenproben (auch als Feuchtegehalt bekannt) durch Ofentrocknung im Labor im Rahmen geotechnischer Untersuchungen. Der Wasserhalt wird als Hilfsgröße zur Klassifizierung von natürlich abgelagerten Böden sowie als Kriterium für die Kontrolle rückverdichteter Böden benötigt und wird anhand von Proben bestimmt, die für die meisten Feldversuche und Laborprüfungen verwendet werden. Die Ofentrocknung ist das in der Laborpraxis übliche Verfahren.
Die Bestimmung des Wassergehalts von Böden besteht in der Ermittlung des Masseverlusts, der beim Trocknen der Probe bis zur Massenkonstanz bei festgelegter Temperatur im Trocknungsofen eintritt. Der Masseverlust wird dem freien Wasser zugeschrieben und in Bezug zur verbleibenden Trockenmasse der Bodenbestandteile gesetzt.
ANMERKUNG Dieses Dokument erfüllt die Anforderungen an die Bestimmung des Wassergehalts von Bodenproben im Rahmen von geotechnischen Erkundungen und Untersuchungen nach EN 1997-1 und EN 1997-2.

Le présent document traite des exigences relatives à l'appareillage, du mode opératoire pour déterminer la teneur en eau des sols et de la consignation des résultats dans un rapport d'essai.
Le présent document spécifie la détermination en laboratoire de la teneur en eau (également appelée humidité) d'une éprouvette de sol par séchage à l'étuve dans le domaine de la reconnaissance géotechnique. La teneur en eau est requise comme guide lors de la classification d'un sol naturel et comme critère de contrôle des sols compactés; elle est mesurée sur des échantillons utilisés pour la plupart des essais de sols aussi bien en place qu'en laboratoire. La méthode de séchage à l'étuve est la méthode de référence utilisée dans la pratique courante des laboratoires.
Le mode opératoire permettant de définir la teneur en eau d'un sol consiste à déterminer la perte de masse par dessiccation de l'éprouvette jusqu'à masse constante dans une étuve de séchage asservie à une température donnée. On considère que la perte de masse est due à l'eau libre, et elle est mise en relation avec la masse sèche restante des particules solides.
NOTE Le présent document est conforme aux exigences relatives à la détermination de la teneur en eau des sols dans le cadre de la reconnaissance et des essais géotechniques, spécifiées dans l'EN 1997‑1 et l'EN 1997‑2.

Ta dokument določa laboratorijsko ugotavljanje vode (vlažnosti) vzorcev zemljin s sušenjem v pečici. Vsebnost vode je potrebna kot smernica pri klasifikaciji naravnih zemljin in kot kontrolni pogoj pri ponovnem zgoščevanju prsti. Meri se pri vzorcih, ki se uporabljajo za večino terenskih in laboratorijskih testov. Metoda sušenja v pečici je dokončni postopek, ki se uporablja pri običajni laboratorijski praksi.

This first edition of ISO 17892-1 cancels and replaces ISO/TS 17892-1:2004, which has been technically

revised. It also incorporates the Technical Corrigendum ISO/TS 17892-1:2004/Cor 1:2006.

1 Scope

This International Standard specifies a method of determining the water content of soils.

This International Standard is applicable to the laboratory determination of the water (also known as

the drying chamber.

Any air circulation shall not be so strong that any transport of particles can take place.
