Copper and copper alloys - Determination of cadmium content - Flame atomic absorption spectrometric method (FAAS)

This document specifies a flame atomic absorption spectrometric method (FAAS) for the determination of the cadmium content of copper and copper alloys in the form of castings or unwrought or wrought products.
The method is applicable to products having cadmium mass fractions between 0,002 % and 2,0 %.

Dieses Dokument legt ein flammenatomabsorptionsspektrometrisches Verfahren (FAAS) für die Bestimmung von Cadmiumgehalten in Kupfer und Kupferlegierungen fest, die als Gussstücke oder als plastisch oder nicht plastisch geformte Produkte vorliegen.
Das Verfahren ist geeignet für Produkte mit Cadmium-Massenanteilen zwischen 0,002 % und 2,0 %.

Le présent document spécifie une méthode par spectrométrie d’absorption atomique dans la flamme (SAAF)
pour le dosage du cadmium dans le cuivre et les alliages de cuivre sous la forme de produits non corroyés,
corroyés ou moulés.
La méthode s’applique aux produits ayant des teneurs en cadmium comprises entre 0,002 % et 2,0 %.

This Technical Specification (CEN/TS) was approved by CEN on 2 March 2009 for provisional application.
The period of validity of this CEN/TS is limited initially to three years. After two years the members of CEN will be requested to submit their
comments, particularly on the question whether the CEN/TS can be converted into a European Standard.
CEN members are required to announce the existence of this CEN/TS in the same way as for an EN and to make the CEN/TS available
promptly at national level in an appropriate form. It is permissible to keep conflicting national standards in force (in parallel to the CEN/TS)
until the final decision about the possible conversion of the CEN/TS into an EN is reached.
CEN members are the national standards bodies of Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland,
