Pumps and pump units for liquids - Common safety requirements
This European Standard establishes the technical safety requirements for:
- constructing;
- assembling;
- erecting;
- operating;
- servicing;
a liquid pump or pump unit. It contains a list of significant hazards, which can arise with the use of a liquid pump or pump unit, and establishes the requirements and/or protective measures which will lead to a reduction of the risks.
Liquid pumps covered by this European Standard are:
- rotodynamic pumps;
- rotary positive displacement pumps;
- reciprocating displacement pumps;
supplied separately without drive (electric motor or internal combustion engine).
In general, pumps are defined as being terminated by their inlet and outlet connections as well as by their shaft ends. Pumps supplied in this form are usually called bareshaft pumps. They are 'machines' in the definition of the Machinery Directive.
The assembly of a bareshaft pump with its driver can require measures that are outside the scope of this European Standard.
Pump units are described as:
Liquid pumps together with a driver and including transmission elements, baseplates, and any auxiliary equipment.
This European Standard does not deal either with the technical safety requirements for the design or manufacture of drivers nor of auxiliary equipment. It does not set down either requirements for the risks directly arising from means provided for the portability, transportability and mobility of pump units during or between periods of their operation, nor the requirements for transmission shafts linking a tractor or other
self-propelled machinery to a pump.
This European Standard does not cover pumps and pump units for the following applications:
- pumps and pump units whose only power source is directly applied manual effort;
- pumps and pump units for medical use used in direct contact with the patient;
- pumps and pump units specially designed or put into service for nuclear purposes which, in the event of failure, can result in an emiss

Diese Europäische Norm legt technische Sicherheitsanforderungen für:
- Konstruktion;
- Zusammenbau;
- Aufstellung;
- Betrieb;
- Instandhaltung;
von Flüssigkeitspumpen und Pumpenaggregate fest. Sie enthält eine Liste signifikanter Gefährdungen, die bei der Verwendung einer Flüssigkeitspumpe auftreten können und legt Anforderungen und/oder Maßnahmen fest, die zu einer Verringerung des Risikos führen.
Diese Europäische Norm behandelt folgende Flüssigkeitspumpen:
- Kreiselpumpen;
- Rotierende Verdrängerpumpen;
- Oszillierende Verdrängerpumpen ;
Die für sich allein, ohne Antrieb (Elektro- oder Verbrennungsmotor) angeboten.
Im Allgemeinen werden Pumpen beschrieben durch die Ein- und Auslassstutzen sowie durch ihre Wellen¬enden. Pumpen, die auf diese Art angeboten werden, nennt man "Pumpen mit freiem Wellenende". Dies sind Maschinen gemäß der Definition der Maschinenrichtlinie.
Der Zusammenbau einer Pumpe mit freiem Wellenende mit einem Antrieb kann Maßnahmen erfordern, die außerhalb des Anwendungsbereiches dieser Europäischen Norm liegen.
Pumpenaggregate sind beschrieben durch:
Eine Flüssigkeitspumpe verbunden mit einem Antrieb, einschließlich Kraftübertragungseinheit, Grundplatte und Zusatzausrüstung.
Diese Europäische Norm behandelt weder technische Sicherheitsanforderungen für die Konstruktion oder Herstellung von Antrieben noch von Hilfseinrichtungen. Ebenso legt sie keine Anforderungen für Risiken fest, die durch Einrichtungen für das Tragen, den Transport oder die Mobilität von Pumpenaggregaten während oder zwischen den Betriebszeiten auftreten können, noch stellt sie Anforderungen an Übertragungswellen zum Anschluss an einen Traktor oder andere selbstangetriebene Maschinen für eine Pumpe.
Diese Europäische Norm gilt nicht für Pumpen oder Pumpenaggregate in den folgenden Anwendungs-bereichen:
- Pumpen und Pumpenaggregate, deren einzige Kraftquelle die unmittelbare menschlich ausgeübte Kraft ist;
- Pumpen und Pumpenaggregate für medizinische Zwecke, die in direktem Kontakt zum Patienten verwendet werden;
- Pumpen und Pumpenaggregate, die speziell für nukleare Verwendungen entwickelt oder eingesetzt werden und deren Ausfall zur Emission von Radioaktivität führen kann;
- Pumpen und Pumpenaggregate für die Verwendung auf Seeschiffen oder beweglichen Offshore-Anlagen;
- Pumpen und Pumpenaggregate, die speziell für militärische oder Polizeizwecke konstruiert wurden.
Ebenso gilt diese Norm nicht für Pumpen und Pumpenaggregate zur hydraulischen Kraftübertragung.
Spezifische Anforderungen für bestimmte Eigenschaften von Pumpen, zusätzlich zu den allgemeinen Anforderungen dieser Norm können in weiteren Normen wie z. B. EN 1028, EN 1829 und EN 13951 und in Europäischen Normen für Tauchmotorpumpen und Flüssigkeitspumpen für die Anwendung in der Lebensmittelindustrie gefunden werden.
Diese Europäische Norm gilt nicht für Pumpen und Pumpenaggregate, die vor der Veröffentlichung dieser Europäischen Norm in Verkehr gebracht wurden.

!La présente Norme européenne fixe les prescriptions techniques de sécurité relatives :
- à la construction ;
- au montage ;
- à l'installation ;
- au fonctionnement ;
- à l'entretien ;
d’une pompe ou d’un groupe motopompe pour liquides. Elle comprend une liste des phénomènes dangereux significatifs, qui peuvent apparaître lors de l'utilisation d'une pompe ou d'un groupe motopompe, et établit les prescriptions et/ou mesures qui conduisent à une réduction des risques.
Les pompes pour liquides couvertes par la présente Norme européenne sont :
- les pompes rotodynamiques ;
- les pompes volumétriques rotatives ;
- les pompes volumétriques alternatives ;
fournies séparément sans machine d'entraînement (moteur électrique ou moteur à combustion interne).
Les pompes sont en général délimitées par leurs orifices d'entrée et de sortie ainsi que par leur extrémité d'arbre. Les pompes fournies sous cette forme sont usuellement appelées pompes arbre nu. Elles correspondent aux «Machines» selon la définition de la Directive Machines.
L'assemblage d'une pompe arbre nu et de sa machine d'entraînement peut nécessiter des mesures qui sont en dehors du domaine d'application de la présente Norme européenne.
Les groupes motopompes sont décrits comme étant :
des pompes pour liquides comportant une machine d'entraînement et comprenant les éléments de transmission, le socle et les dispositifs auxiliaires.
La présente Norme européenne ne traite pas des prescriptions techniques de sécurité relatives à la conception ou à la fabrication des machines d'entraînement ni d'équipement auxiliaire. Elle ne fixe pas de prescriptions relatives aux risques provenant directement des moyens fournis pour la portabilité, la transportabilité, la mobilité des groupes motopompes pendant et entre leurs périodes d'exploitation, ni de prescriptions pour des arbres de transmission reliant un tracteur ou une autre machine motorisée à une pompe.

Črpalke in deli črpalk za tekočine - Splošne varnostne zahteve
Ta evropski standard vzpostavlja zahteve glede tehnične varnosti za:
gradnjo;
sestavljanje;
postavitev;
obratovanje;
servisiranje;
črpalk ali delov črpalk za tekočine. Zajema spisek velikih nevarnosti, ki lahko nastanejo ob uporabi črpalk ali delov črpalk za tekočine, ter vzpostavlja zahteve in/ali zaščitne ukrepe, ki vodijo k zmanjšanju tveganj. Črpalke za tekočine, ki jih zajema ta evropski standard, so:
centrifugalne črpalke;
rotacijske črpalke s prisilnim pretokom;
batne črpalke s prisilnim pretokom;
dobavljene ločeno brez pogona (električni motor ali motor z notranjim zgorevanjem). Na splošno so črpalke definirane, da se končajo z njihovimi vhodnimi in izhodnimi priključki, kot tudi s konci njihovih gredi. Črpalke, dobavljene v tej obliki, so ponavadi imenovane črpalke z golo gredjo. Gre za 'stroje' po definiciji Direktive o strojih. Sestavljanje črpalke z golo gredjo z njenim gonilnikom lahko zahteva ukrepe, ki so izven področja tega evropskega standarda. Deli črpalke so opisani kot črpalke za tekočine skupaj z gonilnikom in vključujoč prenosne elemente, podložne plošče in vso pomožno opremo. Ta evropski standard ne obravnava zahtev glede tehnične varnosti za načrtovanje ali proizvodnjo gonilnikov niti pomožne opreme. Ne določa zahtev glede tveganj, ki nastanejo neposredno zaradi sredstev, s katerimi se omogoči prenosljivost, prevoznost in mobilnost delov črpalk v teku ali med obdobji njihovega obratovanja, niti zahtev za transmisijske gredi, ki povezujejo traktor ali druge samognane stroje s črpalko. Ta evropski standard ne zajema črpalk ali delov črpalk za naslednje uporabe:
- črpalke in deli črpalk katerih edini vir energije je neposredno uporabljena ročna moč;
- črpalke in deli črpalk za medicinsko uporabo, ki se uporabljajo v neposrednem stiku s pacientom;
- črpalke in deli črpalk, ki so posebej zasnovani ali dani v uporabo za jedrske namene, kar ima lahko v primeru okvare za posledico emisijo radioaktivnosti;
- črpalke in deli črpalk za uporabo na morskih plovilih ali mobilnih enotah na vodi;
- črpalke in deli črpalk, ki so posebej zasnovani za vojaške ali policijske namene.
Prav tako ne zajema črpalk in delov črpalk za hidravlični prenos električne energije. Posebne zahteve za posebne lastnosti črpalk, poleg običajnih zahtev, ki so določene v tem standardu, je mogoče najti v drugih standardih, kot so EN 1028, EN 1151, EN 1829, in v evropskih standardih za podvodne dele črpalk in za črpalke za tekočine za uporabo v živilskopredelovalni industriji. Ta evropski standard ne velja za črpalke in dele črpalk, ki so proizvedene pred datumom objave tega evropskega standarda.

This Standard has been prepared to be a harmonized standard to provide one means of conformity with the
Essential requirements of the Machinery Directive and associated EFTA Regulations.
!This European Standard is a type C standard as stated in EN ISO 12100-1.
The machinery concerned and the extent to which hazards, hazardous situations and events are covered are
indicated in the scope of this European Standard.
When provisions of this type C standard are different from those which are stated in type A or B standards, the
provisions of this type C standard take precedence over the provisions of the other standards for machines
that have been designed and built according to the provisions of this type C standard.
The extent to which hazards are covered is indicated in Clause 4 "List of hazards" of this European

1 Scope

This European Standard is not applicable to pumps and pump units which are manufactured before the date
of publication of this European Standard."
