EN 60335-2-99:2003/A1:2019 is the CENELEC adoption of IEC 60335-2-99 Amendment 1, specifying safety requirements for commercial electric hoods (professional kitchen ventilation). The amendment (A1, approved 2017 and published 2019) updates the base household-appliance safety standard to address particular hazards, test methods and construction requirements for extraction systems used in restaurants, canteens, hospitals, bakeries and similar commercial premises. The scope explicitly includes back-draft, downdraft and fume-extraction modules and clarifies links to other directives.

This amendment A1 modifies the European Standard EN 60335-2-99:2003; it was approved by CENELEC on 2017-04-24. CENELEC

status of a national standard without any alteration.
Up-to-date lists and bibliographical references concerning such national standards may be obtained on application to the CEN-CENELEC
