Rubber- or plastics-coated fabrics — Determination of roll characteristics — Part 3: Method for determination of thickness

ISO 2286-3:2016 specifies a method for the determination, at a specified pressure, of the thickness of rubber- and plastics-coated fabrics, irrespective of the type of substrate employed. It is applicable to single-face, double-face and double-texture coated fabrics, as well as materials in which an expanded layer is included in the coating.

SC 4, Products (other than hoses).
This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition (ISO 2286-3:1998), which has been technically
revised. The changes are as follows:
— in 4.1, the smallest scale reading has been changed to 0,01 mm;
— in 4.2, the pressure of 5 kPa has been added and the force corresponding to each pressure has been
added for reference;
— in Clause 5, the conditioning atmosphere has been clarified;
— in Clause 6, the requirement for recording the temperature and humidity has been added; the usable
width has been clearly specified; the period of pressing time has been changed to more flexible;
— in Clause 8, items b) and e) have been added.

Le comité responsable du présent document est l’ISO/TC 45, Élastomères et produits à base d’élastomères,
sous-comité SC 4, Produits (autres que tuyaux).
Cette deuxième édition annule et remplace la première édition (ISO 2286-3:1998), qui a fait l’objet d’une
révision technique. Les modifications sont les suivantes:
— en 4.1, la plus petite échelle de lecture a été changée à 0,01 mm;
— en 4,2, la pression de 5 kPa a été ajoutée et la force correspondant à chaque pression a été ajoutée à
titre de référence;
— à l’Article 5, l’atmosphère de conditionnement a été clarifiée;
— à l’Article 6, l’exigence relative à l’enregistrement de la température et de l’humidité a été ajoutée;
la largeur utile a été clairement spécifiée; la durée du temps de pression a été modifiée pour plus de
souplesse;
— à l’Article 8, les points b) et e) ont été ajoutés.
L’ISO 2286 comprend les parties suivantes, présentées sous le titre général Supports textiles revêtus de
