Sanitary tapware - Shower hoses for sanitary tapware for water supply systems of type 1 and type 2 - General technical specification
This European Standard specifies:
• the dimensional, leaktightness, mechanical and hydraulic characteristics with which shower hoses shall comply;
• the procedures for testing these characteristics.
This European Standard applies to shower hoses of any material used for ablutionary purposes and intended for equipping and supplementing sanitary tapware for baths and showers.
This European Standard applies to shower hoses connected downstream of the obturator of the tapware.
Hoses which are an integral part of sanitary tapware (sink and wash basin mixing valves) or hoses intended to connect sanitary tapware to the water supplies are not covered by this European Standard.

Diese Europäische Norm legt fest:
- die Maße, die Anforderungen an das hydraulische Verhalten, die Dichtheit und das mechanische Verhalten, denen Brauseschläuche genügen müssen;
- die Prüfverfahren, um diese Anforderungen zu überprüfen.
Diese Norm gilt für Brauseschläuche unabhängig vom Material für die Körperhygiene als Ausrüstung von Sanitärarmaturen in Duschen und Bädern. Sie dürfen nur nach dem Absperrorgan der Armatur angeschlossen werden.
Diese Norm gilt nicht für Schläuche zur Verbindung der Armaturen mit der Installation und Schläuche, die integraler Bestandteil der Sanitärarmatur sind (z. B. Mischer für Spülen).
Die Angaben zu Druck und Temperatur sind in Tabelle 1 enthalten.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie :
- les caractéristiques dimensionnelles, d’étanchéité, de comportement mécanique et hydraulique
auxquelles doivent répondre les flexibles de douches ;
- les modes opératoires d’essai permettant de contrôler ces caractéristiques.
Elle s’applique aux flexibles de douches, quel que soit le matériau utilisé, destinés a équiper et a compléter
les robinetteries sanitaires de baignoires ou de douches réservées pour l’hygiene corporelle. Ces flexibles
doivent etre connectés seulement a l’aval de l’obturateur de la robinetterie.
Les flexibles destinés a raccorder les robinetteries sanitaires a l’installation, ainsi que ceux qui font partie de la
robinetterie (mitigeurs pour évier et lavabo) ne sont pas couverts par cette norme.
Les exigences relatives a la pression et a la température sont données dans le Tableau 1.

EN 1113:2008 (E) 4 Foreword This document (EN 1113:2008) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 164 “Water supply”, the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR. This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by August 2008, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by August 2008. Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent rights. CEN [and/or CENELEC] shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights. This document supersedes EN 1113:1997 and EN 13905:2003 The scope is enlarged to include requirements for shower hoses used with water systems of type 1 and type 2. See tables 1, 2, 3 and 4. 1 Scope This European Standard specifies: the dimensional, leaktightness, mechanical and hydraulic characteristics with which shower hoses shall comply; the procedures for testing these characteristics. This European Standard applies to shower hoses of any material used for ablutionary purposes and intended for equipping and supplementing sanitary tapware for baths and showers.
This European Standard applies to shower hoses connected downstream of the obturator of the tapware. Hoses which are an integral part of sanitary tapware (sink and wash basin mixing valves) or hoses intended to connect sanitary tapware to the water supplies are not covered by this European Standard.
