Bituminous mixtures - Test methods for hot mix asphalt - Part 16: Abrasion by studded tyres

This European Standard describes test methods (method A and method B) for determining abrasion by studded tyres, tested on cylindrical specimens of bituminous mixtures.
NOTE   Method A originates from the 'Prall'-method, which has been improved by comprehensive research work. According to Swedish research work, the method correlates with abrasion in the field. Method B originates from Finnish experience and correlates with abrasion in the field.

Diese Europäische Norm legt zwei Prüfverfahren (Verfahren A und Verfahren B) für die Bestimmung des von Spikereifen verursachten Abriebs durch Prüfung von zylindrischen Probekörpern aus Asphalt fest.
ANMERKUNG   Verfahren A ist vom "Prall"-Verfahren abgeleitet, das durch umfassende Forschungsarbeiten verbessert wurde. Aufgrund schwedischer Forschungsarbeiten korreliert das Verfahren mit dem Abrieb in der Praxis. Verfahren B basiert auf finnischen Versuchen und korreliert mit dem Abrieb in der Praxis.

Mélanges bitumineux - Méthodes d'essai pour mélange hydrocarboné a chaud - Partie 16: Abrasion par pneus a crampons

La présente norme décrit deux modes opératoires (méthode A et méthode B) pour la préparation et la détermination de l'abrasion provoquée par des pneus a crampons, dont l'essai est effectué sur des éprouvettes cylindriques de mélanges bitumineux. NOTE 1 Les deux méthodes (A et B) peuvent etre utilisées lorsqu'elles sont appropriées a la détermination de l'abrasion par des pneus a crampons. NOTE 2 La méthode A provient de la méthode "Prall", mais elle est améliorée par des travaux de recherche complets pour obtenir une conception adéquate.

3 Terms and definitions For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply. 3.1 abrasion loss of mass by abrasive action, in millilitres (ml) 3.2 precision closeness of agreement between independent test results obtained under stipulated conditions NOTE 1 Precision depends only on the distribution of random errors and does not relate to the true value or the specified value. NOTE 2 The measure of precision is usually expressed in terms of imprecision and computed as a standard deviation of the test results. Less precision is reflected by a larger standard deviation.
