This document specifies safety requirements and measures for their verification for the design and
construction of portable, hand-held, pole-mounted powered pruners with a backpack power unit
(hereafter referred to as “machine”). These machines use a power transmission shaft to transmit power
to a cutting attachment consisting of a combination of saw-chain and guide bar, a reciprocating saw
blade or a single-piece circular saw blade with a 205 mm maximum outside diameter. Methods for the
elimination or reduction of hazards arising from the use of these machines and the type of information
on safe working practices to be provided by the manufacturer are specified.
This document, together with the relevant sections of ISO 11680-1:2021, deals with all significant
hazards, hazardous situations or hazardous events, with the exception of electric shock from contact
with overhead electric lines (apart from warnings and advices for inclusion in the instructions) and
whole-body vibration from the backpack power unit, relevant to these machines when they are used as
intended and under conditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer.
NOTE 1 A standardized test procedure for measuring whole-body vibration from the backpack power unit is
not available at the date of publication.

This document is applicable to portable, hand-held, pole-mounted powered pruners with backpack
power unit manufactured after its date of publication.

Dieses Dokument enthält sicherheitstechnische Anforderungen sowie Maßnahmen zu deren Überprüfung für die Gestaltung und Konstruktion von tragbaren, Hand gehaltenen, motorbetriebenen Hochentastern mit rückentragbarer Antriebseinheit (nachfolgend als „Maschine“ bezeichnet). Diese Maschinen verwenden eine Antriebswelle zur Übertragung der Energie auf die Schneidgarnitur, die aus einer Kombination einer Sägekette und Führungsschiene, einem sich hin und her bewegenden Sägeblatt oder einem Kreissägeblatt mit einem Außendurchmesser von höchstens 205 mm besteht. Verfahren für die Beseitigung oder Verringerung von Gefährdungen werden festgelegt, die durch den Einsatz der Maschinen entstehen, sowie die Art der Informationen für sichere Arbeitsweisen, die vom Hersteller zur Verfügung zu stellen sind.
Dieses Dokument, zusammen mit den relevanten Abschnitten von ISO 11680-1:2021, behandelt alle signifikanten Gefährdungen, Gefährdungssituationen oder Gefährdungsereignisse, mit Ausnahme von elektrischem Schlag durch Kontakt mit oberirdischen Stromleitungen (abgesehen von Warnhinweisen und Empfehlungen zur Aufnahme in die Betriebsanleitung) und den von der rückentragbaren Antriebseinheit ausgehenden Ganzkörperschwingungen, die für diese Maschinen relevant sind, sofern sie zu dem vorgegebenen Zweck und bei vernünftigerweise durch den Hersteller vorhersehbarem Missbrauch eingesetzt werden.
ANMERKUNG 1 Ein standardisiertes Prüfverfahren zur Messung der Ganzkörperschwingungen, die von der rückentragbaren Antriebseinheit ausgehen, ist zum Ausgabedatum nicht verfügbar.

Le présent document spécifie les exigences de sécurité, et les mesures pour leur vérification, pour la conception et la construction des perches élagueuses portatives à moteur, équipées d'une source motrice portée à dos et fonctionnant avec un arbre de transmission pour alimenter le dispositif de coupe consistant en une chaîne de scie, lame de scie alternative ou lame de scie circulaire monobloc d'un diamètre extérieur maximal de 205 mm (ci-après appelées «machines »). Elle spécifie des méthodes pour éliminer ou réduire les phénomènes dangereux inhérents à l’utilisation de ces machines et le type d'informations devant être fournies par le fabricant sur les pratiques d'utilisation sûre.
Le présent document, conjointement avec les sections pertinentes de l'ISO 11680-1:2021, traite de tous les phénomènes dangereux significatifs, situations dangereuses ou événements dangereux, à l'exception du choc électrique engendré par un contact avec des lignes électriques aériennes (en dehors des avertissements et conseils à inclure dans la notice d'instructions) et des vibrations transmises à l'ensemble du corps par la source motrice portée à dos, pertinents pour ces machines lorsqu’elles sont utilisées normalement et dans des conditions de mauvais usage raisonnablement prévisibles par le fabricant.
NOTE 1 Aucun mode opératoire d'essai normalisé permettant de mesurer les vibrations transmises à l'ensemble du corps par la source motrice portée à dos n'est disponible à la date de publication.

Ta dokument določa varnostne zahteve in ukrepe za njihovo preverjanje za načrtovanje ter izdelavo prenosnih, ročnih motornih žag za obvejevanje z drogom z ločenim ali nahrbtnim motornim pogonom (v nadaljevanju: »stroj«). Ti stroji uporabljajo pogonsko gred za prenos moči
do nastavka za rezanje, ki ga sestavljajo veriga žage in vodilo, recipročno rezilo žage ali krožno rezilo žage v enem kosu z največjim zunanjim premerom 205 mm. Predpisane so metode
za odpravljanje ali zmanjšanje tveganj, ki izhajajo iz uporabe teh strojev, in vrsta informacij
o varnih delovnih praksah, ki jih mora zagotoviti proizvajalec.
Ta dokument poleg ustreznih razdelkov standarda ISO 11680-1:2021 opisuje vsa večja tveganja, nevarne situacije ali dogodke v zvezi s temi stroji, razen električnega udara zaradi stika z nadzemnimi električnimi kabli (vsebuje le opozorila in nasvete, ki morajo biti vključeni v navodila) in vibriranja celotnega telesa zaradi nahrbtnega motornega pogona, kadar se uporabljajo v skladu z

Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards
bodies (ISO member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out
through ISO technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical
committee has been established has the right to be represented on that committee. International
organizations, governmental and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work.
ISO collaborates closely with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on all matters of
electrotechnical standardization.
The procedures used to develop this document and those intended for its further maintenance are
described in the ISO/IEC Directives, Part 1. In particular the different approval criteria needed for the
different types of ISO documents should be noted. This document was drafted in accordance with the

and forestry, Subcommittee SC 17, Manually portable machinery.
This third edition cancels and replaces the second edition (ISO 11680-2:2011), which has been
technically revised.
The main changes compared to the previous edition are as follows:
— 4.1 Reference updated to latest version of ISO 11680-1
— 4.3 Requirements for the harness reworded and aligned with the requirements for double shoulder
harnesses in ISO 11680-1
