Bitumen and bituminous binders - Stabilisation of binder from bituminous emulsion or cut-back or fluxed bitumen after recovery

This European Standard specifies a method for the stabilisation at (85 2) °C for 24 h of a binder after recovery from a bituminous emulsion or from a cut-back or fluxed bitumen for further testing.
It applies to all types of bituminous emulsions, modified with polymers or non-modified, and as well as to all types of cut-back and fluxed bitumens, both modified with polymers and non-modified.
The recovery test method is specified in EN 13074-1.
WARNING - The use of this document may involve hazardous materials, operations and equipment. This document does not purport to address all of the safety problems associated with its use. The hazards associated with the use of this method have been assessed using cut-back bitumen containing 10 % kerosene and 90 % 160/220 penetration grade bitumen and were found low enough to be acceptable. However it is the responsibility of the user of this document to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.

Diese Europäische Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Stabilisierung eines Bindemittels nach der Rückgewinnung aus einer Bitumenemulsion oder verschnittenem oder gefluxtem Bitumen für 24 h bei (85  2) °C für weitere Prüfungen fest.
Sie gilt für alle Arten von Bitumenemulsionen, polymermodifiziert oder nicht modifiziert, sowie für alle Arten von verschnittenem und gefluxtem Bitumen, sowohl polymermodifiziert als auch nicht modifiziert.
Das Prüfverfahren zur Rückgewinnung ist in EN 13074 1 festgelegt.
WARNUNG — Die Anwendung dieses Dokuments schließt auch den Umgang mit gefährlichen Substanzen und Ausrüstungen sowie die Durchführung gefährlicher Arbeitsschritte ein. Dieses Dokument erhebt nicht den Anspruch, dass alle mit seiner Anwendung verbundenen Sicherheitsprobleme angesprochen werden. Die mit der Anwendung dieses Verfahrens verbundene Gefährdung wurde mit verschnittenem Bitumen mit 10 % Kerosin und mit 90 % Bitumen der Penetration 160/220 ermittelt und war niedrig genug, um als akzeptabel angesehen zu werden. Jedoch liegt es in der Verantwortung des Anwenders dieses Dokuments, geeignete Vorsichtsmaßnahmen für den Arbeits- und Gesundheits¬schutz zu treffen und die Anwendbarkeit einschränkender Vorschriften vor der Anwendung zu bestimmen.

Le présent document prescrit une méthode de stabilisation à (85 ± 2) °C pendant 24 h du liant obtenu après
récupération à partir d’une émulsion de bitume ou d’un bitume fluidifié ou fluxé, pour permettre la réalisation
d’essais ultérieurs.
Elle s’applique à tous les types d’émulsions de bitume, avec ou sans polymères, ainsi qu’à tous les types de
bitumes fluidifiés et fluxés, avec ou sans polymères.
La récupération est spécifiée dans la norme européenne EN 13074-1.
AVERTISSEMENT — La mise en oeuvre du présent document peut impliquer l’utilisation de produits,
des manipulations et des appareillages à caractère dangereux. Le présent document n'est pas censé
aborder tous les problèmes de sécurité concernés par son usage. Les risques découlant de la mise en
oeuvre de cette méthode ont été évalués en l’appliquant à un bitume fluidifié contenant 10 % de
kérosène et 90 % de bitume de classe de pénétrabilité 160/220. Il a été établi que ces risques étaient
suffisamment faibles pour être acceptables. Cependant, il est de la responsabilité de l'utilisateur du

Ta evropski standard določa metodo za stabilizacijo veziv po ponovni pridobitvi iz bitumenskih emulzij ali rezanih in fluksiranih bitumnov pri (85 2) °C za 24 h za nadaljnje preskušanje.
Velja za vse vrste bitumenskih emulzij, modificiranih s polimeri ali nemodificiranih, ter za vse vrste rezanih in fluksiranih bitumnov, modifificiranih s polimeri ali nemodificiranih.
Preskusno metodo za ponovno pridobitev določa EN 13074-1.
OPOZORILO: Uporaba tega dokumenta lahko vključuje nevarne materiale, delovne postopke in opremo. Ta dokument nima namena obravnavati vseh varnostnih problemov, povezanih z njegovo uporabo. EN 13074-2:2011 (E) 3 Foreword This document (EN 13074-2:2011) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 336 “Bituminous binders”, the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR. This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by August 2011, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by August 2011. Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent rights. CEN [and/or CENELEC] shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights. This document supersedes EN 14895:2006. This European Standard EN 13074 consists of the following parts:
EN 13074 -1, Bitumen and bituminous binders – Recovery of binder from bituminous emulsion or cut-back or fluxed bituminous binders – Part 1: Recovery by evaporation EN 13074 -2, Bitumen and bituminous binders – Recovery of binder from bituminous emulsion or cut-back or fluxed bituminous binders – Part 2: Stabilisation after recovery by evaporation EN 13074-2 has been created as the result of the merging of EN 13074:2002 and EN 14895:2006 under a single EN 13074 reference (two different parts), since both standards describe similar procedures which are generally performed consecutively. The two different parts have been made as consistent as possible and the procedures for removing, storing and preparing the binder sample for further testing have been clarified and specified more accurately.
