"Welding and allied processes" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 121
"Welding", the secretariat of which is held by DIN.

an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by June 2006, and conflicting national
standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by June 2006.

Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies
(ISO member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO
technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been
established has the right to be represented on that committee. International organizations, governmental and
non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. ISO collaborates closely with the
International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on all matters of electrotechnical standardization.
International Standards are drafted in accordance with the rules given in the ISO/IEC Directives, Part 2.

1 Scope
This part of ISO 3834 specifies the documents with which it is necessary to conform to claim conformity to the
quality requirements of ISO 3834-2, ISO 3834-3 or ISO 3834-4. It can only be used in conjunction with
ISO 3834-2, ISO 3834-3 or ISO 3834-4.
2 Documents with which it is necessary to conform to claim conformity to the
quality requirements of ISO 3834-2, ISO 3834-3 or ISO 3834-4
2.1 General
To claim conformity to the quality requirements of ISO 3834-2, ISO 3834-3 or ISO 3834-4, a manufacturer is
required to conform either to the ISO documents listed in 2.2 or to other documents that provide technically
equivalent conditions, when these documents are referenced in the product standards for the products being
made by the manufacturer.
It is the responsibility of the manufacturer to demonstrate technically equivalent conditions when documents
other than those specified in 2.2 are employed. Certificates issued following assessment by independent

Dieses Dokument (EN ISO 3834-5:2005) wurde vom Technischen Komitee ISO/TC 44 „Welding and allied
processes“ in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Technischen Komitee CEN/TC 121 „Schweißen“ erarbeitet, dessen
Sekretariat vom DIN gehalten wird.
Diese Europäische Norm muss den Status einer nationalen Norm erhalten, entweder durch Veröffentlichung
eines identischen Textes oder durch Anerkennung bis Juni 2006, und etwaige entgegenstehende nationale
Normen müssen bis Juni 2006 zurückgezogen werden.

1 Anwendungsbereich
Dieser Teil von ISO 3834 legt die Dokumente fest, deren Anforderungen erfüllt werden müssen, um die
Übereinstimmung mit den Anforderungen nach ISO 3834-2, ISO 3834-3 oder ISO 3834-4 nachzuweisen. Er
kann nur in Verbindung mit ISO 3834-2, ISO 3834-3 oder ISO 3834-4 angewendet werden.
2 Dokumente, deren Anforderungen erfüllt werden müssen, um die
Übereinstimmung mit den Anforderungen nach ISO 3834-2, ISO 3834-3 oder
ISO 3834-4 nachzuweisen
2.1 Allgemeines
Ein Hersteller, der die Übereinstimmung mit den Qualitätsanforderungen von ISO 3834-2, ISO 3834-3 oder
ISO 3834-4 beansprucht, muss sich nach den ISO-Dokumenten in 2.2 richten, oder andere Dokumente
heranziehen, die gleichwertige technische Bedingungen enthalten, wenn auf diese in der Produktnorm für die
Bauteile, die vom Hersteller gefertigt werden, hingewiesen wird.
Es ist die Verantwortung des Herstellers, die gleichwertigen technischen Bedingungen nachzuweisen, wenn
andere Dokumente als in 2.2 festgelegt angewendet werden. Bei Zertifikaten, die auf Grund einer Bewertung
durch eine unabhängige Zertifizierungsstelle ausgestellt werden, oder bei Beweisen der Übereinstimmung mit
einem Teil von ISO 3834 durch einen Hersteller, müssen die Dokumente, die vom Hersteller benutzt worden
sind, eindeutig bestimmt werden.
2.2 ISO-Dokumente
