This document specifies a method of determining the tear resistance of a plastic film under specified conditions. It is applicable to products that, because of their flexibility, do not tear when clamped between the grips of a tensile testing machine. The method makes it possible to compare samples of different products provided their thickness does not differ by more than 10 %.

Dieses Dokument gibt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Weitereißfestigkeit von Kunststofffolie unter bestimmten Bedingungen an. Es gilt für Produkte, die aufgrund ihrer Flexibilität nicht reißen, wenn sie zwischen die Klemmen einer Zugprüfmaschine gespannt werden. Das Verfahren ermöglicht den Vergleich von Proben unterschiedlicher Produkte unter der Voraussetzung, dass sich deren Dicke um nicht mehr als 10 % unterscheidet.

La présente norme spécifie une méthode permettant de déterminer la résistance à la déchirure d’un film plastique dans des conditions spécifiées. Elle est applicable aux produits qui, en raison de leur flexibilité, ne se déchirent pas lorsqu’ils sont serrés dans les mors d’une machine d’essai de traction. La méthode permet de comparer des échantillons de produits différents à condition que leur épaisseur ne diffère pas de plus de 10 %.
