Industrial valves - Requirements and testing for metallic valves as pressure accessories

This document applies to metallic valves as pressure accessories for industrial applications with a maximum allowable pressure PS greater than 0,5 bar in accordance with the European legislation for pressure equipment and specifies minimum requirements applicable to design, manufacture, testing, materials and documentation.
All relevant essential safety requirements of the European legislation for pressure equipment applicable to valves have been taken into consideration and are addressed in this document.
This document is not applicable to:
-   safety valve and bursting disc (a safety accessory),
-   sight glass with its frames (component of a pressure equipment) and
-   measurement chambers.
For other exclusions, refer to the European legislation for pressure equipment [31].

Dieses Dokument gilt für Metallarmaturen als drucktragende Ausrüstungsteile für Anwendungen in der Industrie mit einem maximal zulässigen Druck (PS) größer als 0,5 bar nach der Europäischen Richtlinie über Druckgeräte und legt die Mindestanforderungen fest, die für die Gestaltung (Auslegung), Herstellung, Prüfung, Werkstoffe und Dokumentation gelten.
Sämtliche relevanten grundlegenden Sicherheitsanforderungen der Europäischen Richtlinie über Druckgeräte, die für die Armaturen gelten, wurden berücksichtigt und werden in dieser Norm behandelt.
Dieses Dokument ist nicht anwendbar auf:
-   Sicherheitsventile und Berstscheiben (ein Ausrüstungsteil mit Sicherheitsfunktion);
-   Schaugläser und deren Fassungen (Bauteil eines Druckgerätes) und
-   Messkammern.
Hinsichtlich weiterer Ausschlüsse wird auf die Europäische Richtlinie über Druckgeräte [31] verwiesen.

Le présent document est applicable aux appareils de robinetterie métalliques utilisés comme accessoires sous pression pour applications industrielles avec une pression maximale admissible PS supérieure à 0,5 bar, conformément à la règlementation européenne pour les équipements sous pression", et spécifie les exigences minimales applicables en matière de conception, de fabrication, d'essais, de matériaux et de documentation.
Toutes les exigences essentielles de sécurité pertinentes de la règlementation européenne pour les équipements sous pression" applicables aux appareils de robinetterie ont été prises en considération et sont traitées dans le présent document.
Le présent document ne s'applique pas :
-   aux soupapes de sûreté et disques de rupture (accessoires de sécurité),
-   aux voyants et à leurs cadres (composants d'un équipement sous pression), et
-   aux chambres de mesure.

identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by August 2025, and conflicting national standards shall be
withdrawn at the latest by August 2025.

Introduction
This document is to be understood as an umbrella standard referencing European harmonized standards
for industrial metallic valves as pressure accessories for industrial applications. It covers the
requirements to meet the Essential Safety Requirements of the Pressure Equipment Directive.
1 Scope
This document is applicable to metallic valves as pressure accessories for industrial applications with a
maximum allowable pressure PS greater than 0,5 bar in accordance with the European legislation for
pressure equipment and specifies requirements applicable to design, manufacture, testing, materials and
documentation.
All essential safety requirements of the European legislation for pressure equipment applicable to valves
have been taken into consideration and are addressed in this document.
This document does not apply to:
— safety valve and bursting disc (safety accessories),
— sight glass with its frames (component of a pressure equipment), and
— measurement chambers.
