Plastics - Liquid phenolic resins - Determination of water miscibility (ISO 8989:1995)
Gives a method for the determination of the miscibility of water with liquid phenolic resins depending on the conditions and on the degree of condensation of the resin. Replaces the first edition.

Foreword
IS0 (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide
federation of national standards bodies (IS0 member bodies). The work of
preparing International Standards is normally carried out through IS0
technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for
which a technical committee has been established has the right to be
represented on that committee. International organizations, governmental
and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. IS0
collaborates closely with the International Electrotechnical Commission
(IEC) on all matters of electrotechnical standardization.
Draft International Standards adopted by the technical committees are
circulated to the member bodies for voting. Publication as an International
Standard requires approval by at least 75 % of the member bodies casting
a vote.
International Standard IS0 8989 was prepared by Technical Committee
ISO/TC 61, Plastics, Subcommittee SC 12, Thermosetting materials.
This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition (IS0 8989:1988)
which has been revised so that the test is carried out with grade 3 water
as defined in IS0 3696 rather than distilled water.
