Acoustics - Measurement of sound insulation in buildings and of building elements - Part 16: Laboratory measurement of the sound reduction index improvement by additional lining (ISO 140-16:2006)

This document describes a measurement method of sound reduction index improvement by additional lining. It can be used for all types of building elements and products as horizontal and vertical additional linings. The results can be used for acoustic properties comparison. The measurement results will contribute to the acoustic performance of buildings from the performance of products.

Als Ergänzung zur ISO 140 3 legt dieser Teil der ISO 140 die Messung der Verbesserung des Schall¬dämm Maßes einer Wand oder Decke im Prüfstand fest, wenn diese mit einer zusätzlichen Vorsatzschale versehen ist. Dieser Teil der ISO 140 behandelt nicht die Verbesserung der Schalldämmung durch Vorsatz¬schalen auf biegeweichen Leichtbaukonstruktionen wie Holzrahmendecken oder zweischaligen Gipskarton¬wänden.

This document (EN ISO 140-16:2006) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 126
"Acoustic properties of building elements and of buildings", the secretariat of which is held by
AFNOR, in collaboration with Technical Committee ISO/TC 43 "Acoustics".

This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of
an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by February 2007, and conflicting national
standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by February 2007.

According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of
