Hardwood round timber - Qualitative classification - Part 1: Oak and beech

This European Standard specifies a qualitative classification and grade designations for felled round timber of oak and beech presented in the form of long poles or logs.
The classifications describe quality classes of round timbers for which the intended use is not known.
The classification applies for the following species: Oaks, Quercus sessiliflora SALISB. (or Quercus petraea LIEBL.), Quercus robur L. (or Quercus pedunculata EHRH.) and Beech (Fagus sylvatica L).

Diese Europäische Norm legt die Qualitäts-Sortierung und Kennzeichnung der Klassen für gefälltes Eichen- oder Buchenrundholz in Form von Langholz oder Stammabschnitten fest. Die Sortierung beschreibt Qualitätsklassen für Rundhölzer, deren zukünftige Nutzung nicht bekannt ist. Die Sortierung gilt für folgende Arten: Traubeneiche (Quercus sessiliflora SALISB. oder Quercus petraea LIBL.), Stieleiche (Quercus robur L. oder Quercus pedunculata EHRH) und Buche (Fagus sylvatica L.).

La présente norme Européenne prescrit le classement qualitatif et les appellations des classements des bois
abattus de chêne et de hêtre qui se présentent sous forme de grumes ou billes.
Les classements décrivent des classes de qualité des bois ronds pour lesquelles l’utilisation n’est pas connue.
Le présent classement s’applique pour les espèces suivantes : Chênes, Quercus sessiliflora SALISB. (ou
Quercus petraea LIEBL.), Quercus robur L. (ou Quercus pedunculata EHRH.) et hêtre (Fagus sylvatica L).

Ta evropski standard določa razvrščanje po kakovosti in označbe razreda za posekana okrogla debla hrasta in bukve v obliki dolgega okroglega lesa ali okroglic. Razvrstitev opisuje kakovostne razrede okroglega lesa, za katerega namen uporabe ni znan. Razvrstitev se uporablja za naslednje vrste: hrast, Quercus sessiliflora SALISB. (ali Quercus petraea LIEBL.), Quercus robur L. (ali Quercus pedunculata EHRH.) in bukev (Fagus sylvatica L.).

EN 1316-1:2012 (E) 3 Foreword This document (EN 1316-1:2012) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 175 “Round and sawn timber”, the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR. This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by April 2013, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by April 2013. Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent rights.
