Small craft - Personal watercraft - Construction and system installation requirements (ISO 13590:2022)

This document specifies construction and system installation requirements for personal watercraft. It addresses the builder’s plate, watercraft identification, permanently installed petrol fuel systems, electrical systems, steering systems, ventilation, hull structure and floatation, stability, mooring and towing, flooding, off-throttle steering and the owner’s manual.
This document does not apply to outboard powered personal watercraft and jet powered surfboards.

Dieses Dokument legt Anforderungen an die Konstruktion und die Systeminstallation von Wasser-motorrädern fest. Es behandelt das Hersteller-Schild, die Kennzeichnung von Wasserfahrzeugen, fest eingebaute Ottokraftstoffsysteme, elektrische Anlagen, Lenkvorrichtungen, Lüftung, Rumpfkonstruktion und Auftriebskörper, Stabilität, Festmachen und Schleppen, Überflutung, Not-Drossel-Steuerung und das Eigner¬handbuch.
Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für Wassermotorräder mit Außenbordmotor und Surfbretter mit Strahlantrieb.

Le présent document spécifie les exigences de construction et d’installation des systèmes pour les véhicules nautiques à moteur. Il concerne la plaque du constructeur, l’identification du véhicule nautique à moteur, les systèmes carburant à essence installés à demeure, les systèmes électriques, les systèmes de direction, la ventilation, la structure de la coque et la flottabilité, la stabilité, le mouillage et le remorquage, l’envahissement, la direction avec les gaz coupés et le manuel du propriétaire.
Le présent document ne s’applique pas aux véhicules nautiques à moteur propulsés par moteurs hors-bord ni aux planches de surf à propulsion par jet d’eau.

Ta dokument določa zahteve za konstrukcijsko in sistemsko vgradnjo za osebna plovila. Obravnava gradbeno ploščo, identifikacijo plovila, trajno vgrajene sisteme za gorivo, električne sisteme, krmilne sisteme, prezračevanje, strukturo trupa in plovbene lastnosti, ter podaja zahteve za plovnost, stabilnost, sidranje in privez, potapljanje, krmiljenje brez plina in navodila za uporabo.
Ta dokument se ne uporablja za osebna plovila z izvenkrmnim pogonom in deskami na reaktivni motorni pogon.

This document (EN ISO 13590:2023) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 188 "Small
craft" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 464 “Small Craft” the secretariat of which is
held by SIS.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by September 2023, and conflicting national standards shall
be withdrawn at the latest by March 2024.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN ISO 13590:2018.
This document has been prepared under a Standardization Request given to CEN by the European
