Determination of screw pull out forces from screw thread channels
This document provides a test method for determining the bearing capacity (pull out force) of a connection consisting of a screw in a screw thread channel, which cannot be calculated in accordance with current codes or conventional calculations. This document can be applied to screw thread channels used in several products, including doors, windows and curtain walling.
This document is applicable to screw thread channels made out of metal, as well as metal screws.
The pull out forces of such connections can already be assessed indirectly with another test method e.g. wind load resistance for doors/windows according to EN 12211 or curtain walling kits according to EN 12179. Additional information with respect to the mechanical performance of connections and direct applications can be determined with the test method described in this document.
The bearing capacity of non-metallic components under the combination of high temperature and load is not considered in the standard. Additional verifications are performed depending on the type of the non-metallic material used.

Dieses Dokument enthält ein Prüfverfahren zur Bestimmung der Tragfähigkeit (Ausziehkraft) einer Ver¬bindung, die aus einer Schraube in einem Gewindekanal besteht, die nicht nach geltenden Normen oder herkömmlichen Berechnungsverfahren berechnet werden kann. Dieses Dokument kann auf Gewindekanäle in mehreren Produkten angewendet werden, einschließlich Türen, Fenster und Vorhangfassaden.
Dieses Dokument ist anzuwenden für Gewindekanäle aus Metall sowie für Metallschrauben.
Die Ausziehkräfte solcher Verbindungen können bereits indirekt mit einem anderen Prüfverfahren bewertet werden, beispielsweise der Widerstandsfähigkeit gegen Windlast von Türen/Fenstern nach EN 12211 oder von Vorhangfassadenbausätzen nach EN 12179. Zusätzliche Angaben zur mechanischen Leistung der Ver¬bindungen und zu den direkten Anwendungsbereichen können mit dem in diesem Dokument beschriebenen Prüfverfahren bestimmt werden.
Die Tragfähigkeit nichtmetallischer Bauteile unter einer Kombination von hohen Temperaturen und Kräften wird in dieser Norm nicht betrachtet. In Abhängigkeit vom Typ des verwendeten nichtmetallischen Werkstoffs werden zusätzliche Prüfungen durchgeführt.

Le présent document fournit une méthode d’essai permettant de déterminer la capacité portante (force d’arrachement) d’une liaison composée d’une vis insérée dans un canal de vissage, qui ne peut pas être calculée selon les codes courants ou avec les calculs habituels. Le présent document peut être appliqué aux canaux de vissage utilisés dans plusieurs produits, notamment les portes, les fenêtres et les façades rideaux.
Le présent document s’applique aux canaux de vissage en métal ainsi qu’aux vis métalliques.
La résistance à l’arrachement de ces types de liaisons peut déjà être évaluée indirectement avec une autre méthode d’essai, par exemple la résistance à la charge due au vent selon l’EN 12211 pour les portes/fenêtres ou selon l’EN 12179 pour les kits de façades rideaux. La méthode d’essai décrite dans le présent document permet de déterminer des informations additionnelles concernant la performance mécanique des liaisons et les applications directes.
La capacité portante des composants non métalliques sous la combinaison d'une haute température et d'une charge n'est pas prise en compte dans la norme. Des vérifications supplémentaires sont effectuées en fonction du type de matériau non métallique utilisé.
