Plastics - Compression moulding of test specimens of thermoplastic materials (ISO 293:2023)

This document specifies the general principles and the procedures to be followed with thermoplastics in the preparation of compression-moulded test specimens, and sheets from which test specimens can be machined or stamped.
NOTE       In order to obtain mouldings in a reproducible state, the main steps of the procedure, including eight different cooling methods, are standardized. For each material, the required moulding temperature and cooling methods are given in the appropriate International Standard for the material or as agreed between the interested parties.
This document is not applicable to reinforced thermoplastics.

Kunststoffe - Formgepresste Probekörper aus Thermoplasten (ISO 293:2023)

Dieses Dokument legt die allgemeinen Prinzipien und Verfahren fest, die für Thermoplaste bei der Herstellung von formgepressten Probekörpern und Platten zu befolgen sind, aus denen durch maschinelles Bearbeiten oder Stanzen Probekörper hergestellt werden können.
ANMERKUNG   Um einen vergleichbaren Zustand bei den Formpressteilen zu erzielen, sind die Hauptschritte des Verfahrens, einschließlich acht unterschiedlicher Abkühlverfahren, genormt. Die erforderliche Presstemperatur und die Abkühlverfahren sind für jedes Material so, wie es in der entsprechenden Internationalen Norm für das Material angegeben ist oder zwischen den beteiligten Partnern vereinbart wurde.
Dieses Dokument ist nicht für verstärkte thermoplastische Kunststoffe anwendbar.

Le présent document spécifie les principes généraux et les modes opératoires à suivre, dans le cas de matières thermoplastiques, pour la préparation d’éprouvettes moulées par compression et de plaques nécessaires pour l’usinage ou la découpe d’éprouvettes.
NOTE            Pour obtenir un état reproductible des moulages, les principales étapes du mode opératoire, y compris huit méthodes différentes de refroidissement, sont normalisées. Pour chaque matière, la température de moulage requise et les méthodes de refroidissement sont telles que données dans la Norme internationale relative à la matière ou agréées entre les parties intéressées.
Le présent document n’est pas applicable aux thermoplastiques renforcés.

This document (EN ISO 293:2023) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 61 "Plastics" in
collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 249 “Plastics” the secretariat of which is held by NBN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by September 2023, and conflicting national standards
shall be withdrawn at the latest by September 2023.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
