Diving equipment - Buoyancy compensators - Functional and safety requirements, test methods
This European Standard specifies functional, safety requirements and test methods applicable to inflatable type buoyancy compensating devices intended to provide divers with means for controlling buoyancy and if applicable, means for carrying the breathing equipment and/or carrying the weights.
This European Standard is not applicable to other kinds of personal equipment such as life preservers, personal flotation or rescue devices including combined buoyancy and rescue devices.

Diese Europäische Norm legt funktionelle und sicherheitstechnische Anforderungen und Prüfverfahren für aufblasbare Tariermittel fest, die Tauchern ermöglichen sollen, ihren Auftrieb zu regeln, und, sofern zutreffend, für Hilfsmittel zum Tragen der Atemgasausrüstung und/oder zum Tragen der Gewichte.
Diese Europäische Norm gilt nicht für andere Arten von persönlicher Ausrüstung wie Rettungskragen, persönliche Auftriebs- oder Rettungsmittel einschließlich kombinierter Tarier- und Rettungsmittel.

La présente Norme Européenne spécifie des exigences fonctionnelles, des exigences de sécurité et des méthodes d’essai applicables aux bouées d’équilibrage de type gonflable destinées à permettre aux plongeurs de contrôler la flottabilité et, le cas échéant, de transporter l’équipement respiratoire et/ou de transporter le lest.
La présente Norme Européenne ne s’applique pas aux autres sortes d’équipements individuels, comme les gilets de sauvetage et les équipements individuels de flottabilité ou de secours, incluant les bouées d’équilibrage et de sauvetage combinées.

Standard EN 1809 določa funkcionalne, varnostne zahteve in preskusne metode, ki se uporabljajo za napihljive naprave za uravnavanje plovnosti, ki potapljačem omogočajo nadzorovanje plovnosti in po potrebi prenos dihalne opreme in/ali prenos uteži. Ta evropski standard se ne uporablja za druge vrste osebne opreme, kot so rešilni obroči, osebne plavajoče ali rešilne naprave, vključno s kombiniranimi napravami za plovnost in reševanje.
