Diese Internationale Norm legt ein Prüfverfahren zur Bestimmung der Brechzahl von Kontaktlinsenmaterialien fest. Das beschriebene Prüfverfahren wird als Referenzverfahren angegeben. Alternative Verfahren dürfen verwendet werden, vorausgesetzt, daß Wiederholbarkeit und Genauigkeit der Brechzahl des Probenkörpers in der Prüfung der hier festgelegten mindestens gleichwertig nach ISO 5725 sind.
