Safety of toys - Part 8: Swings, slides and similar activity toys for indoor and outdoor family domestic use

This part of EN 71 specifies requirements and test methods for activity toys for domestic family use often attached to or incorporating a crossbeam, and similar toys intended for children under 14 years of age to play on or in and to bear the mass of one or more children.
This part of EN 71 also specifies requirements for:
-   separately sold accessories for, and components of activity toys;
-               separately sold swing elements that are ready for use on or in combination with activity toy ;
-   construction packages for activity toys including components used to build activity toys according to a scheduled building instruction.
The scope excludes equipment intended for use in schools, kindergartens, public playgrounds, restaurants, shopping centres and similar public places dealt with in EN 1176 part 1 to 6.

'Dieser Teil der EN 71 legt Anforderungen an und Prüfverfahren für Aktivitätsspielzeug für den häuslichen
Gebrauch fest, das an einem Querbalken angebracht ist oder diesen einschließt, und ähnliches Spielzeug für
Kinder unter 14 Jahren, das zum Spielen darauf oder darin und häufig zum Tragen des Gewichts eines oder
mehrerer Kinder vorgesehen ist.
Dieser Teil der EN 71 legt außerdem Anforderungen fest für:
- separat verkaufte Zubehörteile für und Bauteile von Aktivitätsspielzeug;
- separate verkaufte Schaukelelemente, die gebrauchsfertig an oder in Kombination mit einem
Aktivitätsspielzeug sind;
- Bausätze für Aktivitätsspielzeuge inklusive Bauteile, die benutzt werden, um Aktivitätsspielzeuge nach
einer vorgegebenen Konstruktionsanweisung zusammen zu bauen.
Der Anwendungsbereich schließt Geräte aus, die für den Gebrauch in Schulen, Kindergärten, auf öffentlichen
Spielplätzen, in Restaurants, Einkaufszentren und ähnlichen, öffentlich zugänglichen Orten bestimmt sind, die
in EN 1176, Teile 1 bis 6 und Teile 10 bis 11, behandelt werden.

'La présente partie de l’EN 71 spécifie les exigences et les méthodes d’essai relatives aux jouets d’activité à usage
domestique et familial souvent attachés à une barre transversale ou en comportant une, et aux jouets similaires,
sur lesquels ou dans lesquels les enfants jouent. Ces jouets sont destinés aux enfants âgés de moins de 14 ans
et sont fréquemment destinés à supporter le poids d’un ou de plusieurs enfants.
La présente partie de l’EN 71 spécifie aussi les exigences pour :
- les accessoires de jouets d’activité vendus séparément et les composants de jouets d’activité ;
- les éléments de balançoire vendus séparément, prêts à être utilisés sur un jouet d’activité ou avec celui-ci ;
- les boîtes de construction pour jouets d’activité comprenant des composants utilisés pour construire des jouets
d’activité suivant une notice de montage par étapes.
Le domaine d’application exclut les équipements destinés à être utilisés dans les écoles, les jardins d’enfants,
les aires de jeux publiques, les restaurants, les centres commerciaux et autres lieux publics similaires traités
dans l’EN 1176, parties 1 à 6 et 10 à 11.(

activity toy
toy intended for family domestic use, intended to bear the mass of one or more children, often attached to or
incorporating a crossbeam and intended for children to play on or in. Examples of such toys are swings, slides,
carousels and climbing frames
