Self-adhesive tapes - Measurement of elongation at break
This standard specifies a method to measure the elongation of a self adhesive tape when it is subjected to a tensile force sufficient to cause it to break. The elongation at break of the adhesive tape is of value as an indication if its uniformity and quality, as well as a rough indication of its ability to conform to curved and irregular surfaces. It is usually determined at the same time as the breaking strength.

Diese Norm legt ein Verfahren zum Messen der Dehnung eines Klebebandes, wenn dieses einer Zugkraft ausgestzt wird, die zum Bruch des Bandes führt. Die Reißdehnung ist wichtig für die Bewertung der Gleichmäßigkeit und Qualität des Klebebandes sowie für seine Eignung, Belastungen bei der Handhabung und in der Anwendung standzuhalten.

La présente norme prescrit une méthode pour mesurer l'allongement à la rupture d'un ruban adhésif quand il est soumis à une force de traction suffisante pour provoquer sa rupture. L'allongement à la rupture du ruban adhésif est intéressante comme indication de son uniformité et de sa qualité aussi bien qu'une indication grossière de sa capacité à s'adapter à des surfaces courbes et irrégulières. Il est mesuré en même temps que la résistance à la rupture.
