Household and similar electrical appliances - Safety - Part 2-40: Particular requirements for electrical heat pumps, air-conditioners and dehumidifiers

Deals with the safety of electric heat pumps, including sanitary hot water heat pumps, air-conditioners, and dehumidifiers incorporating sealed motor-compressors. The maximum rated voltage being not more than 250 V for single phase and 600 V for all other appliances. The referenced appliances may consist of one or more assemblies. If provided in more than one assembly, the assemblies are to be used together, and the requirements are based on the use of matched assemblies. Supplmentary heater, or a provision for their seperate installation, are within the scope of this standard, but only heaters which are designed as a part of the appliance package, the controls being incorporated in the appliance.

Ta standard obravnava varnost električnih toplotnih črpalk, vključno s toplotnimi črpalkami za gospodinjsko vročo vodo, klimatskimi napravami in sušilniki zraka z zaprtimi gnanimi kompresorji. Najvišja nazivna napetost ne sme presegati 250 V za enofazne naprave in 600 V za vse druge naprave. Navedene naprave so lahko sestavljene iz enega sestava ali več. Če zajemajo več kot en sestav, se morajo sestavi uporabljati skupaj, zahteve pa temeljijo na uporabi združenih sestavov. This amendment A12 modifies the European Standard EN 60335-2-40:2003; it was approved by
CENELEC on 2004-11-01. CENELEC members are bound to comply with the CEN/CENELEC Internal

any alteration.
