EN 61988-2-5:2012 (IEC 61988-2-5:2012) specifies standardized measuring methods for characterizing acoustic noise from plasma display panel (PDP) modules. The standard defines required equipment, environmental and layout conditions, measurement points and distances, and reporting elements to ensure repeatable, comparable acoustic noise data for PDPs.

1) The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is a worldwide organization for standardization comprising
all national electrotechnical committees (IEC National Committees). The object of IEC is to promote
