This European Standard specifies a method for determining the tensile lap-shear strength of bonded assemblies when tested on a standard specimen and under specified conditions of preparation and testing.
NOTE   This test procedure is not applicable for calculations needed for bond design in structural joints.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie une méthode de détermination de la résistance au cisaillement
d’assemblages collés par essai de traction d’une éprouvette normalisée et dans des conditions de préparation
et d’essai spécifiées.
NOTE 1 Cette méthode d’essai ne peut pas être appliquée pour déterminer les caractéristiques nécessaires aux
calculs et à la conception des joints d’assemblages structuraux.
NOTE 2 Ces méthodes d’essai pour la détermination de la résistance au cisaillement en traction d’assemblages collés
à recouvrement simple avec des adhésifs pour bois sont aussi spécifiées dans l’EN 205 et l’EN 302-1.

EN 1465:2009 - Adhesives: Determination of tensile lap-shear strength of bonded assemblies - is a CEN test method that defines how to measure the tensile lap-shear strength of single-overlap bonded specimens under specified preparation and test conditions. The standard describes specimen geometry, apparatus requirements, conditioning, test procedure, result expression and reporting. Note: this test is intended for comparative and quality testing and is not applicable for structural bond design calculations.

• Test report content: complete identification of adhesive and adherends, surface treatment, bonding and curing details, bond thickness control, specimen details, conditioning, loading rate, individual results, failure mode (per EN ISO 10365) and any deviations.
