EN 203-2-8:2005 is a CEN European Standard for gas heated catering equipment that defines specific safety, construction and energy-use requirements for brat pans and paëlla cookers. - Residual oil must not ignite after emptying (verified by test).
- Rational use of energy:
- Energy consumption measured to attain a temperature rise of (70 ± 2) K above ambient (data collection period noted for future limits).
- Deep-fat brat pans must demonstrate at least 50% efficiency under specified test conditions.
- Pressurised appliances:
- Mandatory pressure regulators, non-modifiable relief valves, secure locking mechanisms and pressure indicators; pressure testing per EN 203-1.
