This Technical Specification (CEN/TS) was approved by CEN on 15 December 2014 for provisional application.

The period of validity of this CEN/TS is limited initially to three years. After two years the members of CEN will be requested to submit their
comments, particularly on the question whether the CEN/TS can be converted into a European Standard.

CEN members are required to announce the existence of this CEN/TS in the same way as for an EN and to make the CEN/TS available
promptly at national level in an appropriate form. It is permissible to keep conflicting national standards in force (in parallel to the CEN/TS)
until the final decision about the possible conversion of the CEN/TS into an EN is reached.

CEN members are the national standards bodies of Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia,
Finland, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania,

La présente Spécification technique (CEN/TS) a été adoptée par le CEN le 15 décembre 2014 pour application provisoire.

Diese Technische Spezifikation (CEN/TS) wurde vom CEN am 15. Dezember 2014 als eine künftige Norm zur vorläufigen Anwendung
angenommen.

Die Gültigkeitsdauer dieser CEN/TS ist zunächst auf drei Jahre begrenzt. Nach zwei Jahren werden die Mitglieder des CEN gebeten, ihre
Stellungnahmen abzugeben, insbesondere über die Frage, ob die CEN/TS in eine Europäische Norm umgewandelt werden kann.

Die CEN Mitglieder sind verpflichtet, das Vorhandensein dieser CEN/TS in der gleichen Weise wie bei einer EN anzukündigen und die
CEN/TS verfügbar zu machen. Es ist zulässig, entgegenstehende nationale Normen bis zur Entscheidung über eine mögliche Umwandlung
der CEN/TS in eine EN (parallel zur CEN/TS) beizubehalten.

This document (CEN/TS 16769:2015) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 286 “Liquefied
petroleum gas equipment and accessories”, the secretariat of which is held by NSAI.

Introduction
Definitions contained in this Technical Specification are to be used in European Standards produced by
CEN/TC 286. Where different definitions are currently in use these are to be changed at the first opportunity
e.g. during 5 year review.
This Technical Specification is maintained by CEN/TC 286/WG 11.
Any proposals for new definitions can be made to CEN/TC 286/WG 11 for consideration. Technical issues are
agreed with the Working Group concerned and the definition is checked for conformity with the CEN Rules.
For an amendment to an existing definition the Working Group can make a proposal to CEN/TC 286/WG 11
for discussion in conjunction with representative/s of the relevant Working Group concerned.
This Technical Specification is formally reviewed every 3 years.
Where a term relevant to ADR is defined but the word used is different a note is added stating the ADR term.
Where the CEN/TC 286 definition coincides exactly with ADR a cross reference to that ADR term (in Annex A)
is given below the definition. This cross-reference should not be reproduced in the relevant standard using the
term.

Les définitions contenues dans la présente Spécification technique sont destinées à être employées dans les
Normes européennes produites par le CEN/TC 286. Si d'autres définitions sont actuellement utilisées, elles
devront être changées à la première occasion venue, c'est-à-dire pendant l'examen après 5 ans.
La présente Spécification technique est mise à jour par le CEN/TC 286 WG 11.
Toute proposition de nouvelle définition peut être transmise au CEN/TC 286 WG 11. Les questions d'ordre
technique seront examinées en collaboration avec le Groupe de travail concerné et la conformité de la
définition sera vérifiée conformément aux Règles du CEN.
Pour amender une définition existante, le Groupe de travail peut soumettre une proposition au CEN/TC 286
WG 11 qui sera examinée par le Comité de révision en collaboration avec les représentants du Groupe de
travail concerné.
Tous les 3 ans, la présente Spécification technique fait l'objet d'un examen formel.
Si un terme en rapport avec l’ADR est défini mais que le mot utilisé est différent une note donnant le terme
ADR est ajoutée. Si la définition du CEN/TC 286 WG11 coïncide exactement avec celle de l’ADR une
référence croisée au terme ADR (Annexe A) est donnée en dessous de la définition. Cette référence croisée
ne doit pas être reproduite dans la norme qui utilise ce terme.

Die in dieser Technischen Spezifikation enthaltenen Definitionen sind in Europäischen Normen, die von
CEN/TC 286 veröffentlicht werden, zu verwenden. Wo gegenwärtig abweichende Definitionen verwendet
werden, sind diese bei nächster Gelegenheit, beispielsweise bei der 5-Jahres-Überarbeitung, anzupassen.
Diese Technische Spezifikation wird von CEN/TC 286/WG 11 unterhalten.
Jegliche Vorschläge für neue Definitionen können CEN/TC 286/WG 11 vorgelegt werden. Technische
Belange werden mit der betreffenden Arbeitsgruppe abgestimmt und die Definition wird auf Übereinstimmung
mit den CEN-Regularien geprüft.
Für die Änderung einer vorhandenen Definition kann die Arbeitsgruppe einen Vorschlag an
CEN/TC 286/WG 11 richten, welcher in Zusammenarbeit mit einem/mehreren Vertretern der betreffenden
Arbeitsgruppe diskutiert wird.
Diese Technische Spezifikation wird formell alle drei Jahre überprüft.
In Fällen, wo ein für das ADR relevanter Begriff definiert wird, aber eine unterschiedliche Benennung
verwendet wird, wird der ADR-Begriff in einer Anmerkung angegeben. Sofern die Definition des CEN/TC 286
mit der des ADR übereinstimmt, wird ein Querverweis zur jeweiligen ADR-Benennung (in Anhang A) gegeben.
Dieser Querverweis sollte in der jeweiligen Norm, welche den Begriff verwendet, nicht wiedergegeben werden.
