Mobile road construction machinery - Safety - Part 6: Specific requirements for mobile feeders (ISO/DIS 20500-6:2020)

This part of EN 500 specifies the safety requirements for paver-finishers as defined in Clause 3 and deals with the significant hazards relevant to these machines, when they are used as intended and under conditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable. This part of EN 500 contains additional requirements to EN 500-1 "Common requirements". If internal and/or external vibrators are used for concrete paving, then prEN 12649 applies.

Introduction
This International Standard is a type C standard as stated in ISO 12100.
The machinery concerned and the extent to which hazards, hazardous situations and events are covered
are indicated in the scope of this International Standard.
When provisions of this type C standard are different from those which are stated in type A or B
standards, the provisions of this type C standard take precedence over the provisions of the other
standards for machines that have been designed and built according to the provisions of this type C
standard.
Mobile feeders are typically self-propelled machines used in the continuous transfer of paving materials
from trucks to paver finishers. Some mobile feeders are capable of feeding multiple paver finishers.
