This document specifies performance requirements and test methods for eye and face protectors for use in ice hockey only.
This document is applicable to eye and face protectors worn by ice hockey players other than goalkeepers and by referees.

Schutzausrüstung zum Gebrauch beim Eishockey - Teil 3: Gesichtsschützer für Eisläufer (ISO 10256-3:2024)

ISO 10256-3:202x legt Leistungsanforderungen und Prüfverfahren für Gesichts- und Augenschützer (Visiere) zum Gebrauch beim Eishockey fest. Sie ist vorgesehen, in Verbindung mit ISO 10256-1:202x und ISO 10256-2:202x verwendet zu werden.
Anforderungen und entsprechende Prüfverfahren, wo anwendbar, sind für folgende Punkte festgelegt:
a) Werkstoffe und Konstruktion;
b) Konstruktion;
c) geschützter Bereich (Bedeckung);
d) Durchdringungswiderstand (Prüfklinge);
e) Puckaufprallwiderstand;
f) optische Qualität;
g) Prüfbericht;
h) Kennzeichnungen; und
i) Benutzerinformation.
Dieser Teil der ISO 10256 gilt für Gesichts- und Augenschützer, die von
- Eishockeyspielern (ausgenommen Torwarten, außer in den Fällen, in denen ISO 10256-4:202x auf diese Norm verweist), und
- Schiedsrichtern getragen werden.

This document (EN ISO 10256-3:2024) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 83 "Sports
and other recreational facilities and equipment" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC
158 “Head protection” the secretariat of which is held by SIS.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by June 2025, and conflicting national standards shall be
withdrawn at the latest by June 2025.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN ISO 10256-3:2018.
This document has been prepared under a standardization request addressed to CEN by the European

Parliament and of the Council of 9 March 2016 on personal protective
equipment aimed to be covered
This European Standard has been prepared under a Commission’s standardization request
“M/571/C(2020) 7924 final” to provide one voluntary means of conforming to essential requirements
of Annex II of Regulation (EU) 2016/425.
Once this standard is cited in the Official Journal of the European Union under that Regulation (EU)
2016/425, compliance with the normative clauses of this standard given in Table ZA.1 confers, within
the limits of the scope of this standard, a presumption of conformity with the corresponding essential
requirements of Annex II of Regulation (EU) 2016/425, and associated EFTA regulations.
