Steel wire and wire products for fences - Part 4: Steel wire welded mesh fencing

This European Standard specifies requirements for steel wire welded mesh fencing of which there are many types for a variety of applications. It specifies the general characteristics of welded mesh fencing supplied as rolls or panels and coatings, properties and tolerances. This European Standard covers only orthogonal welded mesh i.e. wire welded at right angles to one another. For welded mesh fencing made from panels the specification covers only panels made from wires not greater than 10 mm.

Diese Europäische Norm legt Anforderungen an geschweißte Gitter aus Stahldraht für Zäune fest, von denen
zahlreiche Ausführungen für viele verschiedene Anwendungen bekannt sind. Sie legt für geschweißte Gitter,
die als Rollen oder Elemente geliefert werden, die allgemeinen Kenndaten sowie Überzüge, Eigenschaften
und Toleranzen fest.
Diese Europäische Norm gilt nur für rechtwinklig geschweißte Gitter, d. h. für Maschengeflechte aus Drähten,
die im rechten Winkel zueinander verschweißt wurden.
Bei geschweißten Gittern in Form von Elementen werden nur die Elemente festgelegt, die aus Drähten mit
einem Durchmesser bis 10 mm bestehen.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie les prescriptions relatives au grillage en acier soudé, dont il existe de nombreux types différents, utilisés dans un grand nombre d’applications. Elle spécifie les caractéristiques générales du grillage en acier soudé, livré en rouleaux ou en panneaux, ainsi que les revêtements, caractéristiques et tolérances recommandés. La norme européenne ne concerne que les grillages en acier soudés à mailles orthogonales, c’est-à-dire à angle droit les unes des autres. En ce qui concerne les grillages en acier soudés en panneaux, les spécifications ne s’appliquent qu’aux panneaux réalisés en fil de section inférieure ou égale à 10 mm.

Ta evropski standard določa zahteve za več vrst varjenih mrežnih ograj iz jeklene žice, ki se uporabljajo za različne namene. Določa splošne značilnosti varjene mrežne ograje, oblikovane v zvitke ali plošče, ter prevlek, lastnosti in tolerance. Ta evropski standard velja samo za pravokotno varjeno mrežo, na primer žico, ki je varjena na drugo pod pravim kotom. Pri varjenih mrežnih ograjah, ki so narejene iz plošč, specifikacija zajema le plošče iz žice, ki so tanjše od 10 mm.

EN 10223-4:2012 (E) 3 Foreword This document (EN 10223-4:2012) has been prepared by Technical Committee ECISS/TC 106 “Wire rod and wires”, the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR. This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by May 2013, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by May 2013. Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent rights.
