- Rigid metal plates (~50 × 50 mm; steel ≥ 5 mm, aluminium ≥ 10 mm)
- Compound mixed per EN 1937; primer if specified
- Test execution: Apply tensile load at 250 ± 50 N/s until failure. Record load (N) and failure mode per EN ISO 10365 (cohesive in compound, cohesive in substrate, adhesive failure).
- Calculation & evaluation: Bond strength (MPa) = breaking load (N) ÷ bonded area (mm²). Compute arithmetic mean of eight results; discard values that differ by > 20 % from the mean (repeat until stable). If fewer than four results remain, repeat the test.
