Fixed firefighting systems - Gas extinguishing systems - Part 1: Design, installation and maintenance (ISO 14520-1:2006, modified)

This European Standard specifies requirements and gives recommendations for the design, installation, testing, maintenance and safety of gaseous fire fighting systems in buildings, plant or other structures. The characteristics of the various extinguishants and types of fire for which they are a suitable extinguishing medium are given in parts 2 to 11 of this standard.
It covers total flooding systems primarily related to buildings, plant and other specific applications, utilizing electrically non-conducting gaseous fire extinguishants that do not leave a residue after discharge and for which there are sufficient data currently available to enable validation of performance characteristics by an appropriate independent authority. This European Standard is not applicable to explosion suppression.
This European Standard is not intended to indicate approval of the extinguishants listed therein by the appropriate authorities, as other extinguishants may be equally acceptable. CO2 is not included as it is covered by other International Standards.
This European Standard is applicable to the extinguishants listed in annex G, Table G.1. It is essential that it be used in conjunction with the separate parts of this European Standard for specific extinguishants, as given in Table 1.

Dieses Dokument legt Anforderungen fest und gibt Empfehlungen für die Auslegung, Installation, Prüfung, Instandhaltung und Sicherheit von Löschanlagen mit gasförmigen Löschmitteln in Gebäuden, Produktionsanlagen oder anderen Bauwerken sowie die Kenndaten der unterschiedlichen Löschmittel und deren Eignung für bestimmte Brände.
Dieses Dokument beschreibt Raumschutzanlagen für Gebäude, Anlagen und weitere besondere Anwendungen, bei denen elektrisch nicht leitende, gasförmige Feuerlöschmittel eingesetzt werden, die nach dem Einsatz keinen Rückstand hinterlassen und über die gegenwärtig ausreichend viele Angaben verfügbar sind, so dass eine Validierung ihres Verhaltens und ihrer Sicherheitskenndaten durch eine geeignete, unabhängige Institution möglich ist. Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für die Explosionsunterdrückung.
Dieses Dokument stellt keine Auflistung der von zuständigen Stellen zugelassenen Löschmittel dar, weitere, hier nicht aufgeführte Löschmittel können ebenfalls zulässig sein. CO2 wurde nicht erfasst, da es in anderen Internationalen Normen behandelt wird.
Dieses Dokument gilt für die in Tabelle 1 aufgeführten Feuerlöschmittel. Es ist vorgesehen, dieses Dokument in Verbindung mit den in Tabelle 1 angegebenen Teilen der EN 15004 für die einzelnen speziellen Feuerlöschmittel anzuwenden.

Le présent document spécifie des exigences et donne des recommandations pour la conception, l’installation, les essais, la maintenance et la sécurité des systèmes de lutte contre l’incendie utilisant des agents gazeux, dans les bâtiments, les usines et autres structures.
Il aborde également les caractéristiques des différents agents extincteurs et les types d’incendies pour lesquels ces agents sont des agent d’extinction appropriés. Cette norme traite des systèmes par noyage total principalement destinés aux bâtiments, aux usines et autres applications spécifiques, qui utilisent des agents extincteurs gazeux non conducteurs de l'électricité et qui ne laissent aucun résidu après émission et pour lesquels il existe actuellement suffisamment de données pour permettre à une autorité indépendante appropriée de valider les caractéristiques de performance et de sécurité. Le présent document ne s'applique pas à la suppression des explosions.
Le présent document n'est pas destiné à indiquer l'homologation par les autorités compétentes des agents extincteurs énumérés dans le présent document, dans la mesure où d'autres agents extincteurs peuvent être tout aussi acceptables. Le CO2 n'est pas inclus dans la mesure où il est traité dans d'autres normes internationales.
Le présent document est applicable aux agents extincteurs répertoriés dans le Tableau 1. Il est destiné à être utilisé conjointement avec les différentes parties de l'EN 15004 relative aux agents extincteurs spécifiques, cités dans le Tableau 1.
