Railway applications - Gauges - Part 3: Structure gauges
This standard:
- defines the various profiles needed to install, verify and maintain the various structures near the structure gauge;
- lists the various phenomena to be taken into account to determine the structure gauge;
- defines a methodology that may be used to calculate the various profiles from these phenomena;
- lists the rules to determine the distance between the track centres;
- lists the rules to be complied with when building the platforms;
- lists the rules to determine the pantograph gauge;
- lists the formulae needed to calculate the structure gauges in the catalogue. The defined gauge includes the space to be gauged and maintained to allow the running of rolling stock, and the rules for calculation and verification intended for sizing the rolling stock to run on one or several
infrastructures without interference risk. This standard defines methodologies to demonstrate gauge compatibility between infrastructure and rolling stock.
This standard defines the responsibilities of the following parties:
a) for the infrastructure:
1) gauge clearance;
2) maintenance;
3) infrastructure monitoring.
b) for the rolling stock:
1) compliance of the operating rolling stock with the gauge concerned;
2) maintenance of this compliance over time.
The gauges included in these standards have been developed as part of their application on European railways. Other networks such as regional, local, urban and suburban networks may apply the gauge regulations defined in this standard. They may be required to make use of specific methodologies, particularly where:
- specific rolling stock is used (for example: underground trains, trams, etc. operating on two rails);
- use occurs in other ranges of radii;
- others, etc.
The catalogue included in this standard only includes a selection of gauges and is not exhaustive. Each network is free to define the gauges in accordance with their own needs.
Bahnanwendungen - Begrenzungslinien - Teil 3: Lichtraumprofile
Diese Europäische Norm
- definiert verschiedene Profile, die für die Anordnung, Überprüfung und Instandhaltung gleisnaher baulicher Anlagen erforderlich sind;
- legt verschiedene Wirkungsgrößen fest, die bei der Festlegung des jeweiligen Lichtraums zu berück-sichtigen sind;
- legt eine Methode fest, mit der — ausgehend von den oben genannten Einflüssen — die verschiedenen Lichtraumprofile berechnet werden können;
- legt Regeln für die Festlegung des Gleismittenabstandes fest;
- legt Regeln fest, die bei die Anordnung der Bahnsteige zu beachten sind;
- legt Regeln für die Bestimmung des Lichtraums für den Durchgang der Stromabnehmer fest;
- stellt Gleichungen auf, die für die Berechnung der in der Aufstellung aufgeführten Lichträume erforderlich sind.
Ein Lichtraumprofil definiert zum einen den Raum, der freizuhalten und aufrechtzuerhalten ist, um den Verkehr von Schienenfahrzeugen zu ermöglichen, zum anderen Rechenregeln und Prüfbedingungen für die Begrenzungslinien von Fahrzeugen, die in einem oder mehreren Streckennetzen ohne Risiko von Berührungen eingesetzt werden.
Ein Lichtraumprofil stellt eine eindeutige Vereinbarung zwischen Infrastrukturbetreiber und Fahrzeugbau dar.
Für die Erfordernisse der vorliegenden Norm sind folgende Zuständigkeiten festzulegen:
a) Seitens der Infrastruktur:
1) die Freihaltung des Lichtraums;
2) die Instandhaltung;
3) die Überwachung der Infrastrukturmaße.
b) Seitens des Fahrzeugbaus:
1) die Konformität der eingesetzten Fahrzeuge mit dem entsprechenden Lichtraum;
2) der Erhalt der Konformität des Lichtraums über die Zeit.
Die in der vorliegenden Norm enthaltenen Begrenzungslinien sind im Hinblick auf eine europaweite Anwendung im Eisenbahnwesen aufgenommen worden. Andere Bahnnetze, wie Regionalnetze, lokale, städtische oder Nahverkehrsbahnnetze, können die in dieser Norm definierten Regeln ebenfalls anwenden. Sie können für besondere Fälle herangezogen werden:
- bei besonderen Bahnsystemen (zum Beispiel U-Bahnen, Straßenbahnen usw., die auf zwei Schienen fahren)
- bei anderen Gleisbogenradien
- und bei anderen Verhältnissen…
Die Auflistung der verschiedenen Begrenzungslinien in dieser Norm enthält nur eine Auswahl, die nicht erschöpfend ist. Jedes Bahnnetz kann diese nach ihren eigenen Bedürfnissen festlegen.

La présente norme :
- définit les différents profils, nécessaires pour l’implantation, la vérification et le maintien des obstacles qui s’approchent du gabarit des obstacles en vigueur ;
- donne les différents phénomènes à prendre en compte pour déterminer le gabarit des obstacles en vigueur ;
- définit une méthodologie qui peut être utilisée pour calculer les différents contours, à partir de ces phénomènes ;
- donne les règles pour déterminer l'entraxe des voies ;
- donne les règles à respecter lors de l’implantation des quais ;
- donne les règles pour déterminer le gabarit du pantographe ;
- donne les formules nécessaires pour calculer les gabarits des obstacles du catalogue.
Le gabarit définit, d’une part l’espace à dégager et à maintenir pour admettre la circulation des matériels roulants et d’autre part, les règles de calcul et de contrôle destinées au dimensionnement du matériel roulant devant circuler sur une ou plusieurs infrastructures sans risque d’interférence.
Un gabarit définit une convention univoque entre l’infrastructure et le matériel roulant.
La présente norme nécessite que, les responsabilités suivantes soient attribuées :
a) Côté infrastructure :
1) le dégagement du gabarit ;
2) la maintenance ;
3) la surveillance des infrastructures.
b) Côté matériel roulant :
1) la conformité du matériel roulant exploité avec le gabarit concerné ;
2) le maintien de la conformité du gabarit dans le temps.
Les gabarits repris dans ces normes ont été développés dans le cadre d’une application ferroviaire européenne. D’autres réseaux tels que les réseaux régionaux, locaux, urbains et suburbains peuvent appliquer les règles de gabarit définies dans cette norme. Ils peuvent être amenés à utiliser des méthodologies particulières notamment dans le cas :
- d’utilisation des matériels spécifiques (par exemple : métro, tramway, etc. circulant sur deux rails) ;
- d’utilisation dans d’autres plages de rayons ;
- autres...
Le catalogue repris dans cette norme, ne contient qu’une sélection de gabarits qui n’est pas exhaustive. Chaque réseau a la liberté d’en définir pour ses propres besoins.

– določa način za izračun različnih profilov za omenjene pojave;
– navaja pravila za določanje medtirne razdalje;
– navaja pravila, ki morajo biti upoštevana pri gradnji peronov;
– navaja pravila za ugotavljanje profila odjemnika toka;
– navaja formule za izračun svetlih profilov v katalogu. Določeni profil vključuje prostor, ki mora biti profiliran in vzdrževan, da je omogočena vožnja tirnih vozil ter pravila za izračun in preverjanje, potrebna za ugotovitev velikosti tirnih vozil, ki vozijo po eni ali več infrastrukturah brez tveganja motenj. Ta standard določa metodologije za prikaz združljivosti profilov infrastrukture in tirnih vozil.
Standard določa odgovornost za naslednje:
a) infrastruktura:
1) sprejem profila;
2) vzdrževanje;
3) nadzor infrastrukture.
b) tirna vozila:
1) skladnost delujočih tirnih vozil z zadevnim profilom;
2) vzdrževanje te skladnosti.
Profili, vključeni v te standarde, so bili zasnovani v sklopu njihove uporabe na evropskih železnicah. Ostala omrežja, npr. regionalna, lokalna, urbana in primestna, lahko uporabljajo predpise za profil, določene v tem standardu. Zahtevana je lahko uporaba posebnih metod, še posebej:
– ko so v uporabi posebna tirna vozila (npr. vlaki za podzemno železnico, tramvaji itn., ki vozijo po dveh tirih);
– pri uporabi v drugih obsegih radijev;
– drugo itn.
