Prefabricated accessories for roofing - Roof safety hooks

This European Standard applies to hooks situated on the surface of pitched roofsand permanently fixed to the load-bearing roof construction. They are intended for the attachment of slater's ladders, for supporting working platforms and as anchorage points to which personal protective equipment against falls or for restraint are attached. It specifies essential dimensions, materials to be used,requirements with respect to the load-bearing capacity, and the extent of test.

Diese Europäische Norm gilt für Haken, die auf der Oberfläche von geneigten Dächern angeordnet und mit der tragenden Dachkonstruktion fest verbunden sind. Sie dienen zum Einhängen von Dachdeckerleitern, zum Befestigen von Dachdeckerstühlen und als Anschlagpunkte für Sicherheitsgeschirre. Die Norm legt die wesentlichen Maße, die zu verwendenden Baustoffe sowie die Anforderungen an die Tragfähigkeit und den Umfang der Prüfungen fest. Diese Norm gilt nicht für Einrichtungen, die ausschließlich als Anschlagpunkte für Sicherheitsgeschirre verwendet werden (siehe prEN 795).

Cette norme européenne s'applique aux crochets situés sur la surface des toits en pente et solidement fixés a la construction portante de toit. Ils sont destinés a l'accrochage des échelles de couvreurs, a la fixation des plate- formes de couvreurs et ils servent en tant que points d'ancrage pour les harnaisde sécurité. La norme définit les dimensions principales, les matériaux de construction a utiliser ainsi que les exigences concernant la limite de charge et l'étendue des essais.

NOTE 1   Products complying with this document can be used in conjunction with rainwater downpipes conforming to EN 12200-1 [1] and fixed with brackets complying with EN 1462 [2].
This document is applicable to PVC-U gutter systems of any shape with rubber seal or adhesive joints.
NOTE 2   It is the responsibility of the purchaser or specifier to make the appropriate selections from the size range and the design to take into account their particular requirements and any relevant national regulations and installation practices or codes.

This document specifies a test method to establish the uplift resistance of installed clay or concrete tiles for roofing, complying with the relevant product standard, EN 490 or EN 1304, which are unfixed or mechanically fixed to the substructure.
NOTE   The test method has been developed for clay or concrete tiles for roofing, but can apply to other discontinuously laid small elements, such as: slates; fibre cement slates; stones; and, adopted accordingly, to photovoltaic and solar thermal panels.
The test method is applicable to mechanical fixings such as clips, hooks, screws and nails.
The method is not applicable to fixed tiles having fixing patterns with less than every third tile fixed.
The test method is not applicable to under and over tiles. Examples of these tiles are given in Annex G.

This document specifies a test method for pull through and shear resistance of fibre-cement flat sheets for roofing and cladding.
The results are also applicable for:
-   Coated or uncoated sheets manufactured at the same production facility as the tested sheets.
-   The test method can be applied to textured or non-textured fibre-cement flat sheets. The results of non-textured sheets are only applicable for textured sheets if the nominal minimum thickness of the textured sheet is at least the nominal thickness of the non-textured sheet.
-   The same type of fixing head or washer assembly where applicable if the diameter of the fixing head or washer is 0 mm to 2 mm larger than in the test.
-   The Shore A hardness of the sealing washer, where applicable, is ± 5 that of the washer used in the test.
-   The diameter of the drilled hole through the fibre cement sheet is 0 mm to 2 mm smaller than in the test, providing there is the required clearance hole around the shank of the fastener.

This European Standard specifies the technical requirements and establishes methods of control and test as well as acceptance conditions for fibre-cement slates and their fibre-cement fittings for one or more of the following uses:

This European Standard applies to fibre-cement slates with a height dimension h (see Clause 4) not exceeding 850 mm for overlapping assembly. For the purpose of this European Standard, fibre-cement slates have been classified according to their bending moment.
This European Standard covers fibre-cement slates reinforced with fibres of different types as specified in 5.1.1.
This European Standard does not include calculations with regard to works, design requirements, installation techniques, wind uplift or rain proofing of the installed products.
