This document specifies the requirements for hygiene and cleanliness on railway vehicles and where appropriate the necessary interfacing infrastructure equipment.
The areas specifically concerned on the railway vehicle include toilets, toilet doors, hand wash facilities, baby changing facilities, feminine hygiene articles management and fresh water supply. In the catering areas for water supply and disposal systems only.
This document also includes extensive guidance and best practice to assist in the design, manufacture, operation and maintenance of railway vehicle hygiene equipment.

This European Standard specifies interface requirements on vehicles and on ground based refilling and storage equipment for any railway vehicle fitted with internal combustion engine (s) requiring a NOx reduction agent AUS 32 (32 % aqueous urea solution) as specified in ISO 22241-1.
It is also applicable to mobile or temporary refilling points for AUS 32.

This European Standard specifies the interface requirements for controlled emission toilet equipment on railway vehicles and the infrastructure, including catering area sink waste retention tanks. Vehicle and infrastructure specific requirements are also given.
The European Standard includes fixed and portable infrastructure equipment used to empty retention tanks, but excludes equipment fitted to railway vehicles where no fixed connections are used between vehicle and infrastructure.

This European Standard specifies interface requirements on vehicles and at designated fuelling points for diesel refuelling equipment for any railway vehicle fitted with a diesel power unit(s).
This European Standard is written for refuelling railway vehicles with fuels that are compliant with Directive 2009/30/EC.
This European Standard is not applicable to mobile or temporary refuelling points.

This European Standard specifies the interface requirements for water restocking equipment, and the on board system to preserve the quality of the water supply. It is applicable to railway vehicles fitted with water taps for use in toilets, washing facilities, water dispensers and catering equipment and the railway infrastructure at designated servicing sites.
This European Standard is not applicable to filling railway vehicles with water for the purpose of engine cooling, steam heating or work equipment on on-track machines.
