IEC 62885-9:2019 lists the characteristic performance parameters for walk-behind and ride-on floor scrubbers and sweepers and other floor cleaning machines in accordance with IEC 60335-2-72:2016. The intent is to serve the manufacturers in describing parameters for their manuals and their literature. This may include all or some of the parameters listed in this definition document. This first edition of IEC 62885-9 cancels and replaces IEC 62826:2014 and constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to IEC 62826:2014 a) reference to a dated version of IEC 60335-2-72 to ensure consistency between the two standards; b) a new calculation for the nominal current consumption in 22.1; c) a new calculation for the maximum net run-time of commercial floor treatment machines in 22.2; d) update of the Bibliography.

IEC 62885-8:2019 is applicable for measurements of the performance of mains-operated dry vacuum cleaners, including water filter vacuum cleaners, for commercial use. The requirements for the construction and testing covered by this document are applied in addition to the requirements for commercial vacuum cleaners in IEC 60335-2-69. The purpose of this document is to specify essential performance characteristics of dry vacuum cleaners for commercial use that are of interest to operators and to describe methods for measuring these characteristics. Due to the influence of environmental conditions, variations in time, origin of test materials and proficiency of the operator, some of the described test methods will give more reliable results when applied for comparative testing of a number of appliances at the same time, in the same laboratory and by the same operator. The methods here can be applied with modifications for surface-cleaning product types or technologies not currently covered within the scope. For safety requirements, reference is made to IEC 60335-1 and IEC 60335-2-69. This first edition cancels and replaces IEC PAS 62611, published in 2009.

IEC 62885-5:2018 lists the characteristic performance parameters for high pressure cleaners and steam cleaners in accordance with IEC 60335-2-79. The intent is to serve the manufacturers in describing parameters that fit in their manuals and in their literature. This can include all or some of the parameters listed in this definition document.

IEC 62885-3:2014(E) is applicable to wet cleaning appliances for household use for carpet cleaning in or under conditions similar to those in households. This part of IEC 62885 is not applicable to steam cleaning vacuums. The purpose of this standard is to: - specify the essential performance characteristics of wet cleaning appliances being of interest to users - describe methods for measuring these characteristics and - be complementary to the methods for dry vacuum cleaners in IEC 60312-1. This first edition cancels and replaces the first edition of IEC 60312-2 published in 2010. This edition constitutes a technical revision. IEC 60704-2-1:2014 applies to electrical vacuum cleaners (including their accessories and their component parts) for household use in or under conditions similar to those in households. This part of IEC 60704 applies as it is to electrical vacuum cleaners operating in dry conditions. Some additions and modifications for vacuum cleaners operating in wet conditions are under consideration. How to test robotic vacuum cleaners is under consideration for a future edition. This part of IEC 60704 does not apply to vacuum cleaners for industrial or professional purposes. This third edition cancels and replaces the second edition published in 2000. This edition constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition: a) introduction of a measuring method on hard floors; b) inclusion of values for measurement uncertainty; c) inclusion of values for standard deviation for declaration and verification; d) update of the definition of the standard test carpet.

The purpose of this standard is to specify the essential performance characteristics of dry cleaning robots and to describe methods for measuring these characteristics. This standard is neither concerned with safety nor with performance requirements.

States and defines the principal performance characteristics of vacuum cleaners which are of interest to the user and describes the standard methods for measuring these characteristics.

IEC 60704-2-17:2020 describes the determination of the noise emission of dry-cleaning robots under normal operating conditions on carpet and hard floors. This document applies to electrical dry-cleaning robots (including their accessories and their component parts) for household use or under conditions similar to those in households. This document applies to electrical dry-cleaning robots operating in dry conditions only. Some additions and modifications for dry-cleaning robots operating in wet conditions are under consideration. This document does not apply to dry-cleaning robots for industrial or professional purposes. This document does not apply to – manually operated vacuum cleaners, and – dry-cleaning robots for outdoor use. This Part 2-17 is intended to be used in conjunction with IEC 60704-1:2010. The relevant text of IEC 60704-1:2010 as amended by this publication establishes the test code for dry-cleaning robots.

The purpose of this document is to specify essential performance characteristics of cordless dry vacuum cleaners which are of interest to users and to describe methods for measuring these characteristics. This standard is to be read in conjunction with IEC 62885-2:2016, to which it refers, and which is applicable unless otherwise specified in this standard.

IEC 60704-2-1:2020 is available as IEC 60704-2-1:2020 RLV which contains the International Standard and its Redline version, showing all changes of the technical content compared to the previous edition.IEC 60704-2-1:2020 is applicable for the determination of airborne acoustical noise of mains operated and cordless dry vacuum cleaners for household use or under conditions similar to those in households. This part of IEC 60704 does not apply to vacuum cleaners for industrial or professional purposes. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition: a) product scope is extended to cordless and similar vacuum cleaners; b) definitions of "cleaning head", "active nozzle" and "standard Wilton test carpet" have been added; c) specification of standard Wilton test carpet has been removed; reference is made to IEC/TS 62885-1; d) specific requirements on equipping and pre-conditioning have been added; e) topic ageing of test carpet is addressed. This Part 2-1 supplements or modifies the corresponding clauses in IEC 60704-1:2010.
