IEC 62026-3:2014 specifies an interface system between single or multiple controllers, and control circuit devices or switching elements. The interface system uses two conductor pairs within one cable - one of these pairs provides a differential communication medium and the other pair provides power to the devices. This part establishes requirements for the interoperability of components with such interfaces. This third edition of IEC 62026-3 cancels and replaces the second edition published in 2008. This third edition constitutes a technical revision. The main changes with respect to the previous edition are the followings:
- specification of group 4 messages (5.1.2);

The IEC 61915 series is intended to improve interoperability of devices, network tools and application software. This part of IEC 61915 defines a framework for common representation of networked industrial devices and provides a template for documenting such a representation, independent of the network used. This framework follows the principles given in IEC/TR 62390, the "Common automation device - Profile guideline", and refers to ISO 15745, "Industrial automation systems and integration - Open systems application integration framework". This first edition cancels and replaces the IEC/TS 61915 technical specification published in 2003. It now has the status of an International Standard.

IEC 60947-5-4:2002 applies to separable contacts used in the utilization area considered, such as switching elements for control circuits. This standard takes into consideration two rated voltage areas:
a) above (and including) 10 V (typically 24 V) where contacts are used for switching loads with possible electrical erosion, such as programmable controller inputs;
b) below 10 V (typically 5 V) with negligible electrical erosion, such as electronic circuits.
This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition which was issued as a technical report in 1996. It now has the status of an International Standard.
