ISO 8230-2:2008 specifies safety requirements for dry-cleaning machines that exclusively use perchloroethylene (or “perc”) as their cleaning medium. It is applicable to such dry-cleaning machines, within the scope of ISO 8230-1, when they are used as intended and under conditions of misuse that are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer.
ISO 8230-2:2008, in conjunction with ISO 8230-1, deals with all significant hazards, significant hazardous situations and significant hazardous events that have been identified as being significant to the types of machines covered by ISO 8230-2:2008 and which require specific action by the designer or manufacturer to eliminate or reduce the risk.
It deals with the following significant hazards specific to the use of perc, which can lead to the inhalation of unhealthy vapours, to perc contact with the skin (including of the feet) or eyes of the machine operator and those of other personnel and members of the public, as well as to water and ground contamination: perc emission to the workroom, seepage into the ground and sewer during operation and maintenance of the water separator; perc emission resulting from operation, cleaning and maintenance of the distilling installation.

Dieser Teil der ISO 8230 legt Sicherheitsanforderungen für Textilreinigungsmaschinen fest, die ausschließlich Perchlorethylen (im Folgenden mit „Per“ bezeichnet) als ihr Reinigungsmittel verwenden.
Er ist gültig für diese Textilreinigungsmaschinen im Anwendungsbereich der ISO 8230 1, soweit sie wie vorgesehen und unter Bedingungen des Missbrauchs benutzt werden, die vom Hersteller vernünftigerweise vorhersehbar sind.
Er gilt nicht für:
Textilreinigungsmaschinen mit offenem Kreislauf,
Umlademaschinen.

Dieser Teil der ISO 8230 befasst sich in Verbindung mit ISO 8230 1 mit allen wesentlichen Gefährdungen, wesentlichen gefährlichen Situationen und wesentlichen gefährlichen Ereignissen, die für die Arten von Maschinen, die von diesem Teil der ISO 8230 abgedeckt werden, als wesentlich identifiziert worden sind, und die spezifische Maßnahmen vom Konstrukteur und Hersteller verlangen, um das Risiko auszuschließen.
Er befasst sich mit folgenden wesentlichen, für die Verwendung von Per spezifischen Gefährdungen, die zum Einatmen von gesundheitsschädlichen Dämpfen, zu Per Kontakt mit der Haut (einschließlich der Füße) oder Augen der Bedienungsperson, anderer Beschäftigter und Besucher führen können, ebenso wie zur Kontamination von Wasser und Boden:
a) Per Emission in den Arbeitsraum, Versickern im Boden und Abwasserkanal während des Betriebs und der Wartung des Wasserabscheiders;
b) Per Emission, verursacht durch Betrieb, Reinigung und Wartung der Destilliereinrichtung;
Dieser Teil der ISO 8230 gilt für Maschinen, die nach dem Datum seiner Veröffentlichung hergestellt wurden.

L'ISO 8230-2:2008 spécifie les exigences de sécurité pour les machines de nettoyage à sec utilisant exclusivement du perchloroéthylène comme moyen de nettoyage.
Elle s'applique aux machines de nettoyage au sec couvertes par le domaine d'application de l'ISO 8230‑1, lorsqu'elles sont utilisées normalement et dans les conditions de mauvaise utilisation raisonnablement prévisibles par le constructeur.
L'ISO 8230-2:2008 traite, conjointement avec l'ISO 8230‑1, de tous les phénomènes dangereux significatifs et des situations ou événements dangereux significatifs qui ont été identifiés comme étant pertinents aux machines couvertes par l'ISO 8230-2:2008, et qui exigent une action spécifique de la part du concepteur ou du fabricant pour éliminer ou réduire le risque.
Elle couvre tous les phénomènes dangereux significatifs spécifiques aux machines de nettoyage à sec utilisant du perchloroéthylène qui peuvent conduire à l'inhalation de vapeurs nocives par l'opérateur de la machine (ou par tout autre personnel ou personnes se trouvant sur les lieux), à un contact du perc avec la peau (incluant les pieds) ou avec les yeux de l'opérateur de la machine (ou ceux de tout autre personnel ou personnes se trouvant sur les lieux), ainsi qu'à la contamination de l'eau et du sol: émission de perc dans l'atelier, infiltration dans le sol et les égouts pendant le fonctionnement et l'entretien du séparateur d'eau; émission de perc résultant du fonctionnement, du nettoyage et de l'entretien de l'installation de distillation.

This document (EN ISO 8230-2:2008) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 72 "Textile
machinery and machinery for dry-cleaning and industrial laundering" in collaboration with Technical
Committee CEN/TC 214 “Textile machinery and accessories” the secretariat of which is held by SNV.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by April 2009, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the
latest by December 2009.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent
