Ta evropski standard določa zahteve v zvezi z dimenzionalnimi, mehanskimi, optičnimi in toplotnimi lastnostmi plastomernih folij za prekrivanje stalnih ali začasnih rastlinjakov in nizkih tunelov ter zastirk, ki se uporabljajo za pospeševanje rasti in klitje zelenjave, sadja ter cvetja.
Ta evropski standard zajema tudi plosko ležeče prekrivne folije.
Določa razvrstitev za trajnost prekrivnih folij in preskusne metode iz tega standarda.
Ta evropski standard določa tudi preskusne metode za določanje vsebnosti klora in žvepla v folijah, ki so predmet uporabe.
Ta evropski standard se uporablja za plastomerne prekrivne folije za uporabo v kmetijstvu in vrtnarstvu v Evropi z razponom debeline od 20 μm do več kot 250 μm na osnovi polietilenskih in/ali etilenskih kopolimernih materialov naslednjih vrst: atermične folije, termične prosojne folije in termične difuzne folije.
Ta evropski standard določa tudi smernice za namestitev, uporabo in odlaganje prekrivnih folij. Opredeljuje običajno pričakovano življenjsko dobo in pravila za ocenjevanje preostalih možnosti uporabe v primeru poškodbe pred običajnim datumom konca uporabe.
OPOMBA: Ta pravila omogočajo ocenitev preostale vrednosti folij. Te določbe se uporabljajo le za folijo
in njene poškodbe. Morebitne druge težave spadajo na področje strokovnih praks ter splošnih pogojev in določil za prodajo.
