Flexible and rigid cellular polymeric materials - Accelerated ageing tests (ISO 2440:2019)

This document specifies, for flexible and rigid cellular polymeric materials, laboratory procedures which are intended to imitate the effects of naturally occurring reactions such as oxidation or hydrolysis by humidity. The physical properties of interest are measured before and after the application of the specified treatments.
Test conditions are only given for open cellular latex, both open- and closed-cell polyurethane foams, and closed-cell polyolefin foams. Conditions for other materials will be added as required.
The effect of the ageing procedures on any of the physical properties of the material can be examined, but those normally tested are either the elongation and tensile properties, or the compression or indentation hardness properties.
These tests do not necessarily correlate either with service behaviour or with ageing by exposure to light.
If desired, the ageing conditions contained in this document can be applied to composite structures containing any of the above types of cellular material. This can be helpful in the investigation of possible interactions between cellular materials and other substrates. Composite constructions can be in the form of complete finished products or representative small specimens cut there-from.

Weich- und Hartschaumstoffe - Schnellalterungsprüfung (ISO 2440:2019)

Dieses Dokument für Weich- und Hartschaumstoff legt die Laborverfahren fest, mit denen die Auswirkungen natürlicher Reaktionen wie Oxydation oder Hydrolyse durch Feuchtigkeit untersucht werden können. Die relevanten physikalischen Eigenschaften werden vor und nach der Durchführung der festgelegten Behandlungsverfahren bestimmt.
Es werden nur Prüfbedingungen für offenzellige Latex , offen  und geschlossenzellige Polyurethanschäume und geschlossenzellige Polyolefinschäume angegeben. Prüfbedingungen für andere Werkstoffe werden nach den jeweiligen Erfordernissen ergänzt.
Die Auswirkung der Alterungsprüfungen auf die physikalischen Eigenschaften des Werkstoffs können untersucht werden; aber üblicherweise werden jedoch entweder die Dehnungs  und Zugfestigkeits-eigenschaften oder die Druckfestigkeitseigenschaften bzw. die Eindrückhärte geprüft.
Diese Prüfungen sagen nicht unbedingt etwas über das Verhalten beim Gebrauch oder die Alterung bei Lichteinwirkung aus.
Falls erforderlich, können die in diesem Dokument enthaltenen Alterungsbedingungen auf Verbund-strukturen angewendet werden, die eine der vorstehend genannten Arten von Schaumstoffen enthalten. Dies kann bei der Untersuchung möglicher Wechselwirkungen zwischen Schaumstoffen und anderen Trägermaterialien nützlich sein. Bei den Verbundkonstruktionen kann es sich um komplette Fertigerzeugnisse oder um daraus entnommene kleine repräsentative Proben handeln.

Le présent document spécifie, pour les matériaux polymères alvéolaires souples et rigides, des méthodes de laboratoire qui ont pour but de reproduire les effets des réactions se produisant naturellement, telles que l'oxydation ou l'hydrolyse causées par l'humidité. Les caractéristiques physiques considérées sont mesurées avant et après l'application des traitements spécifiés.
Les conditions d'essai sont données uniquement pour le latex à alvéoles ouverts, les mousses de polyuréthanne à alvéoles ouverts et fermés, et les mousses de polyoléfine à alvéoles fermés. Les conditions pour les autres matériaux seront ajoutées suivant les besoins.
L'effet des méthodes de vieillissement sur l'une quelconque des caractéristiques physiques du matériau peut être examiné, mais celles qui sont normalement vérifiées par les essais sont les caractéristiques d'allongement et de traction ou les caractéristiques de compression ou de dureté par indentation.
Ces essais ne sont pas nécessairement en corrélation, soit avec le comportement en utilisation, soit avec le vieillissement par exposition à la lumière.
Si cela est souhaité, les conditions de vieillissement contenues dans le présent document peuvent être appliquées à des structures composites contenant l'un des types de matériaux alvéolaires ci-dessus. Cela peut être utile dans la recherche des interactions possibles entre les matériaux alvéolaires et d'autres substrats. Les constructions composites peuvent être sous la forme de produits finis complets ou de petits échantillons représentatifs qui en seraient prélevés.

Za prožne in penjene polimerne materiale ta standard določa laboratorijske postopke, ki so namenjeni imitaciji učinkov naravnih reakcij, kot sta oksidacija ali hidroliza zaradi vlage. Želene fizikalne lastnosti se izmerijo pred uporabo posebnih obdelav in po njej. Preskusni pogoji so podani samo za odprt celični lateks, odprto in zaprto celično poliuretansko peno ter zaprto celično poliolefinsko peno. Pogoji za druge materiale se bodo dodali po potrebi. Preveriti je mogoče učinek postopkov staranja katerih koli fizikalnih lastnosti materiala, toda običajno so preskušane raztezne in natezne lastnosti ali kompresijske lastnosti oziroma lastnosti za ugotavljanje trdnosti. Ti preskusi niso nujno v korelaciji z obnašanjem med obratovanjem ali staranjem zaradi izpostavljenosti svetlobi. Po želji je mogoče pogoje staranja, ki jih vsebuje ta dokument, uporabiti za sestavljene strukture, ki vsebujejo katero koli od zgornjih vrst celičnega materiala. To je lahko v pomoč pri preiskavi možnih interakcij med celičnimi materiali in drugimi substrati.
