ISO 14343:2017 specifies requirements for classification of wire electrodes, strip electrodes, wires and rods for gas-shielded metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding, plasma arc welding, submerged arc welding, electroslag welding and laser beam welding of stainless and heat-resisting steels. The classification of the wire electrodes, strip electrodes, wires and rods is based upon their chemical composition.
This document is a combined specification providing for classification utilizing a system based upon nominal composition (system A), or utilizing a system based upon alloy type (system B).
a) Paragraphs which carry the label "classification according to nominal composition" and the suffix letter "A", or "ISO 14343-A", are applicable only to products classified according to system A;
b) Paragraphs which carry the label "classification according to alloy type" and the suffix letter "B", or "ISO 14343-B", are applicable only to products classified according to system B.
c) Paragraphs which carry neither label nor suffix letter are applicable to products that can be classified according to either system A or B or both.

Dieses Dokument legt die Anforderungen zur Einteilung von Drahtelektroden, Bandelektroden, Drähten und Stäben zum Metall-Schutzgasschweißen, Wolfram-Inertgasschweißen, Plasmaschweißen, Unterpulver¬schweißen, Elektroschlackeschweißen und Laserstrahlschweißen nichtrostender und hitzebeständiger Stähle fest. Die Einteilung der Drahtelektroden, Bandelektroden, Drähte und Stäbe beruht auf ihrer chemischen Zusammensetzung.
Dieses Dokument kombiniert Festlegungen für Einteilungen, denen ein System beruhend auf der Nennzusammensetzung (System A) oder ein System beruhend auf dem Legierungstyp (System B) zugrunde liegt.
a) Absätze mit der Bezeichnung „Einteilung nach der Nennzusammensetzung“ oder die durch ein nachge-stelltes „A“ oder durch „ISO 14343 A“ gekennzeichnet sind, sind nur für solche Produkte anwendbar, die nach System A eingeteilt sind.
b) Absätze mit der Bezeichnung „Einteilung nach dem Legierungstyp“ oder die durch ein nachgestelltes „B“ oder durch „ISO 14343-B“ gekennzeichnet sind, sind nur für solche Produkte anwendbar, die nach System B eingeteilt sind.
c) Absätze ohne eine dieser Bezeichnungen sind für Produkte anwendbar, die nach System A oder B oder nach beiden Systemen eingeteilt werden können.

ISO 14343:2017 spécifie les exigences relatives à la classification des fils-électrodes, électrodes en feuillard, fils d'apport et baguettes de soudage, pour le soudage à l'arc avec électrode fusible sous protection gazeuse, le soudage à l'arc sous protection gazeuse avec électrode de tungstène (soudage TIG), le soudage plasma, le soudage à l'arc sous flux, le soudage sous laitier (électroconducteur) et le soudage laser des aciers inoxydables et des aciers résistant aux températures élevées. La classification des fils-électrodes, électrodes en feuillard, fils d'apport et baguettes de soudage est basée sur leur composition chimique.
Le présent document permet l'usage de deux systèmes parallèles de classification, par composition nominale (système A) et/ou par type d'alliage (système B).
a) Les paragraphes qui portent la mention «classification d'après la composition nominale» et la lettre «A», ou «ISO 14343-A», ne sont applicables qu'aux produits classifiés selon le système A;
b) les paragraphes qui portent la mention «classification d'après le type d'alliage» et la lettre «B», ou «ISO 14343-B», ne sont applicables qu'aux produits classifiés selon le système B;
c) les paragraphes qui ne portent aucune mention et aucune lettre sont applicables aux produits classifiés soit d'après le système A, soit d'après le système B, soit d'après les systèmes A et B.

Ta dokument določa zahteve za razvrstitev žičnih elektrod, trakov, žic in palic za obločno varjenje v zaščitnih plinih, za varjenje po postopku TIG, obločno varjenje s plazmo, obločno varjenje pod praškom, varjenje s pretaljevanjem ter lasersko varjenje nerjavnih in toplotno odpornih jekel. Razvrstitev žičnih elektrod, trakov, žic in palic temelji na njihovi kemijski sestavi.
Ta dokument je kombinirana specifikacija, ki omogoča razvrstitev z uporabo sistema na osnovi nominalne sestave (sistem A) ali sistema na osnovi vrste zlitine (sistem B).
a) Odstavki z oznako »razvrstitev v skladu z nominalno sestavo« in dodatna črka »A«, ali »ISO 14343-A«, se uporabljajo samo za proizvode, razvrščene po sistemu A;
b) Odstavki z oznako »razvrstitev v skladu z vrsto zlitine« in dodatno črko »B«, ali »ISO 14343-B«, se uporabljajo samo za proizvode, razvrščene po sistemu B;

This document (EN ISO 14343:2017) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 44 "Welding
and allied processes" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 121 “Welding and allied
processes” the secretariat of which is held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by October 2017 and conflicting national standards shall
be withdrawn at the latest by October 2017.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN [and/or CENELEC] shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent
rights.
This document supersedes EN ISO 14343:2009.
