Hand-held non-electric power tools - Safety requirements - Part 9: Die grinders (ISO 11148-9:2011)

ISO 11148-9:2011 specifies safety requirements for hand-held non-electric power tools fitted with collets (hereinafter "die grinders") intended for grinding and surface finishing and chamfering using mounted points, burrs and files and small wire brushes and other accessories mounted on shanks. The die grinders can be powered by compressed air, hydraulic fluid or internal combustion engines and are intended to be used by one operator and supported by the operator's hand or hands, with or without a suspension, e.g. a balancer.
ISO 11148-9:2011 is applicable to angle die grinders, reciprocating files, rotary files and straight die grinders.
ISO 11148-9:2011 deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations or hazardous events relevant to die grinders when they are used as intended and under conditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer, with the exception of the use of die grinders in potentially explosive atmospheres.

Dieser Teil der ISO 11148 gilt für handgehaltene nicht elektrisch betriebene Maschinen, die mit Spannzangen
bestückt sind (im nachstehenden Text als „Schleifmaschinen für Schleifstifte“ bezeichnet) und die zum
Schleifen sowie zur Oberflächenbearbeitung und zum Entgraten, unter Verwendung von Kleinschleifkörpern,
Engratwerkzeugen, Feilen und kleinen Drahtbürsten, die an Schäften befestigt sind, verwendet werden. Die
Schleifmaschinen für Schleifstifte können durch Druckluft, über Hydraulikflüssigkeit oder Verbrennungsmotoren
betrieben werden und sind dazu bestimmt, durch eine Bedienungsperson verwendet und von dieser
ohne oder mit einer Halterung, z. B. einer Ausgleichseinrichtung, mit einer oder beiden Händen gehalten zu
werden.
ANMERKUNG 1 Zum Zeitpunkt der Veröffentlichung dieser Norm sind keine Schleifmaschinen für Schleifstifte bekannt,
die durch Verbrennungsmotoren angetrieben werden. Sobald derartige Maschinen vorliegen, wird dieser Teil der
ISO 11148 entsprechend geändert.
Zu den Maschinen, die in diesem Teil der ISO 11148 behandelt werden, gehören:
- Schleifmaschinen für Schleifstifte in Winkelausführung;
- Feilen mit hin- und hergehender Bewegung;
- rotierende Feilen;
- Schleifmaschinen für Schleifstifte in gerader Ausführung.
ANMERKUNG 2 Anhang B enthält Beispiele für Schleifmaschinen für Schleifstifte.
ANMERKUNG 3 Schleifmaschinen ohne Spannzangen für die Verwendung mit Schleifkegeln und Schleifstiften mit
Gewindeeinsatz werden in Teil 7 behandelt.
In diesem Teil der ISO 11148 werden alle signifikanten Gefährdungen, Gefährdungssituationen oder
Gefährdungsereignisse mit Ausnahme des Einsatzes von Schleifmaschinen für Schleifstifte in explosionsfähigen
Atmosphären behandelt, wenn sie für den dafür vorgesehenen Verwendungszweck und unter für den
Hersteller vorhersehbaren Missbrauchsbedingungen angewendet werden.
ANMERKUNG 4 EN 13463-1 enthält Anforderungen an nicht elektrisch betriebene Geräte für den Einsatz in explosionsfähigen
Atmosphären.

L'ISO 11148-9:2011 spécifie des exigences de sécurité pour les machines portatives non électriques équipées de pinces (ci-après appelées «meuleuses d'outillage») destinées au meulage, à la finition de surfaces et au chanfreinage à l'aide de meules sur tige, de fraises limes, de limes et de brosses métalliques montées sur tige. Les meuleuses d'outillage peuvent être alimentées par air comprimé, par un fluide hydraulique ou par un moteur à combustion interne, et sont prévues pour être utilisées par un seul opérateur et être portées par la ou les mains de l'opérateur avec ou sans suspension, par exemple à l'aide d'un équilibreur.
Elle est applicable aux meuleuses d'outillage d'angle, aux limeuses fraiseuses alternatives, aux limeuses fraiseuses rotatives et aux meuleuses d'outillage droites.
Elle traite de tous les phénomènes dangereux, situations dangereuses ou événements dangereux significatifs qui sont pertinents pour les meuleuses d'outillage lorsqu'elles sont utilisées normalement et lorsqu'elles font l'objet d'un mauvais usage raisonnablement prévisible par le fabricant, à l'exception de l'usage des meuleuses d'outillage dans une atmosphère potentiellement explosible.

This document (EN ISO 11148-9:2011) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 118
"Compressors and pneumatic tools, machines and equipment" in collaboration with Technical Committee
CEN/TC 255 “Hand-held, non-electric power tools - Safety” the secretariat of which is held by SIS.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by June 2012, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at
the latest by June 2012.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent
