Non-destructive testing - Eddy current testing - Vocabulary (ISO 12718:2008)

ISO 12718:2008 defines terms used in eddy current testing.
In addition to terms used in English and French, two of the three official ISO languages, this document gives the equivalent terms in German; these are published under the responsibility of the member body for Germany (DIN), and are given for information only. Only the terms and definitions given in the official languages can be considered as ISO terms and definitions.

This document (EN ISO 12718:2008) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 138 "Non-
destructive testing", the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR, in collaboration with Technical Committee
ISO/TC 135 "Non-destructive testing".
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by February 2009, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn
at the latest by February 2009.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent
rights. CEN [and/or CENELEC] shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN 1330-5:1998.
According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of the following
