This document specifies tolerances on dimensions and form of extruded precision profiles in alloys EN AW-6060 and EN AW-6063, manufactured with and without a thermal barrier (see Figures 1 and 2). It applies to extruded products supplied without further surface treatment. Precision profiles covered in this document are distinguished from extruded profiles for general applications covered in EN 755-9 by the following characteristics:
- they are designed with mostly uniform wall-thicknesses;
- they are mainly used for mechanical engineering, architectural and automotive (except crash-elements) applications;
- their maximum weight per metre is 10 kg/m;
- their maximum wall thickness ratio (tmax/tmin) is 3,5.
In the case of profiles which, due to the complexity of their design, are difficult to manufacture and specify, then special agreements between supplier and purchaser may need to be reached.
NOTE The effect of the thermal barrier material on the dimensional tolerances is covered by this document although the actual thermal barrier material itself is not (see EN 14024).

Dieses Dokument legt die Grenzabmaße und Formtoleranzen für stranggepresste Präzisionsprofile aus den Legierungen EN AW 6060 und EN AW 6063 fest, die mit oder ohne Wärmedämmung (siehe Bild 1 bzw. Bild 2) hergestellt werden. Es gilt für stranggepresste Erzeugnisse, die ohne weitere Oberflächenbehandlung hergestellt werden. Die in diesem Dokument beschriebenen Präzisionsprofile unterscheiden sich von den stranggepressten Profilen für allgemeine Anwendungen nach EN 755 9 wie folgt:
   sie werden mit meist gleichmäßigen Wanddicken ausgeführt;
   sie werden hauptsächlich im Maschinenbau, in der Architektur und im Automobilbau (außer als Crashelemente) eingesetzt;
   ihr maximales Metergewicht beträgt 10 kg/m;
   ihr maximales Wanddickenverhältnis (tmax/tmin) beträgt 3,5.
Bei Profilen, die aufgrund ihrer komplexen Konstruktion schwierig herzustellen und zu spezifizieren sind, können besondere Vereinbarungen zwischen Lieferant und Käufer notwendig sein.
ANMERKUNG   Der Einfluss des Werkstoffs für die Wärmedämmung auf die Grenzabmaße wird in diesem Dokument berücksichtigt, wenngleich der eigentliche Werkstoff für die Wärmedämmung nicht enthalten ist (siehe EN 14024).

Le présent document spécifie les tolérances sur dimensions et forme des profilés de précision filés en alliages EN AW-6060 et EN AW-6063 fabriqués avec ou sans barrière thermique (voir Figures 1 et 2). Il s’applique aux produits filés fournis sans traitement de surface spécifique. Les profilés de précision traités dans le présent document se distinguent des produits filés pour applications générales traités dans l’EN 755-9 par les caractéristiques suivantes :
- ils sont conçus avec des épaisseurs de paroi le plus souvent uniformes ;
- ils sont principalement destinés à des applications du génie mécanique, de l’architecture et de l’automobile (à l’exception des éléments exposés aux collisions) ;
- leur masse maximale par mètre est de 10 kg/m ;
- leur rapport maximal d’épaisseur de paroi (tmax/tmin) est de 3,5.
Dans le cas de profilés qui, en raison de la complexité de leur conception, sont difficiles à fabriquer et à spécifier, il peut s’avérer nécessaire que le fournisseur et l’acheteur conviennent d’accords spéciaux.
NOTE Les effets du matériau de barrière thermique sur les tolérances dimensionnelles sont traités dans le présent document, même si le matériau lui-même de la barrière thermique proprement dite ne l’est pas (voir l'EN 14024).

1 Scope

This document specifies tolerances on dimensions and form of extruded precision profiles in alloys

EN AW-6060 and EN AW-6063, manufactured with and without a thermal barrier (see Figures 1 and 2).

4 Tolerances on dimensions
4.1 General

If, for compelling reasons, tolerances closer than those specified in 4.2.2 are required, these shall only

be specified for dimensions that are critical to the function, subject to specific agreement between

supplier and purchaser. Any such reduction shall not exceed two-thirds of the values specified in this

document and is subject to a minimum tolerance band of 0,3 mm.
4.2 Cross-sectional dimensions
4.2.1 General

The tolerances of the following dimensions (see Figure 3) are specified in Tables 1 and 2.

— A: wall thicknesses except those enclosing the hollow spaces in hollow profiles;

— B: wall thicknesses enclosing the hollow spaces in hollow profiles, except those between two

hollow spaces;
— C: wall thicknesses between two hollow spaces in hollow profiles;
— E: the length of the shorter leg of profiles with open ends;

— H: all dimensions (except wall thickness) between points on the cross section of the profile or the

centres of open screw holes, including open ends.

This document specifies tolerances on dimensions and form of extruded precision profiles in alloys

EN AW-6060 and EN AW-6063, manufactured with and without a thermal barrier (see Figures 1 and 2).
