Outdoor furniture - Seating and tables for camping, domestic and contract use - Part 4: Requirements and test methods for durability under the influence of climatic conditions
This part of EN 581 specifies requirements and test methods for the determination of structural and surface finish durability of outdoor furniture for camping, domestic and contract use for adults without regard of materials, design/construction or manufacturing process.
Additionally this CEN Report specifies requirements covering the safety hazard which arises from the effect of weathering (in particular UV) on plastic materials.
For the presentation of the various durability levels, a consumer information label is specified.
This CEN Report does not apply to:
- specifications on surface resistance against chemical and mechanical stresses
- outdoor furniture for severe contract use where higher requirements may be necessary
- permanently fixed outdoor furniture, street furniture
- removable upholstery and coverings
- spectator facilities
- severe contract use

Der vorliegende Teil der EN 581 legt Anforderungen und Prüfverfahren zur Bestimmung der Dauerhaltbarkeit der Konstruktion und der Oberflächenbeschaffenheit von Außenmöbeln fest, die im Camping-, Wohn-
und Objektbereich von Erwachsenen benutzt werden, ohne Berücksichtigung von Werkstoffen, Gestaltung/Konstruktion oder Herstellungsverfahren.
Dieser Technische Bericht legt zudem Anforderungen bezüglich der Sicherheitsgefährdung fest, die durch den Einfluss der Witterung auf Plastikmaterialien (insbesondere UV Strahlung) entsteht.
Für die Darstellung der verschiedenen Dauerhaltbarkeitsstufen wird ein Etikett für die Verbraucherinformation festgelegt.
Der vorliegende CEN Bericht gilt nicht für
- Festlegungen hinsichtlich der Oberflächenbeständigkeit gegen chemische und mechanische Beanspruchungen
- Außenmöbel im besonders schwer beanspruchten Objektbereich, für den höhere Anforderung erforderlich sein können
- dauerhaft befestigte Außenmöbel, Straßenmöbel
- abnehmbare Polster und Abdeckungen
- Zuschaueranlagen
- schwere Beanspruchung im Objektbereich.

La présente partie de l'EN 581 spécifie les exigences et les méthodes d'essai permettant de déterminer la durabilité de la structure et de l'aspect de la surface d'un mobilier d'extérieur pour adultes, à usage collectif, domestique et de camping, quels que soient les matériaux, la conception et la construction ou le procédé de fabrication.
En outre, le présent Rapport CEN/TR spécifie les exigences couvrant les risques sécurité dus à l'effet des intempéries (notamment les UV) sur les matériaux plastiques.
Une étiquette d'information pour le consommateur est spécifiée pour la présentation des divers niveaux de durabilité.
Le présent Rapport CEN/TR ne s'applique pas :
- aux spécifications portant sur la résistance des surfaces aux contraintes chimiques et mécaniques ;
- au mobilier d'extérieur prévu pour un usage collectif plus intensif pouvant nécessiter des exigences renforcées ;
- au mobilier d'extérieur fixé en permanence, au mobilier urbain ;
- aux garnissages et revêtements amovibles ;
- aux tribunes ;
à un usage collectif intensif.
